📋 About This Mod

Description

I made this SKSE plugin on a whim because I'm tired of custom race characters not being recognized by mods or spell effects as proper races without having to make extensive record/script patches. The purpose of the mod is very simple, quickly and efficiently translate any custom race to an actual Skyrim race. So for example it can translate a UBE Breton to the actual base game Breton race and can finally worship Xarxes in Wintersun, or receive racial abilities from Imperious without having to patch scripts or records. Of course those are some examples, any event that queries the character race will get the translation instead. It also adds any custom race to the appropriate race lists for full compatibility.

This mod does NOT change your character race. It only translates it to a different one whenever the game queries your race.

By default this comes with support for UBE and COR custom races. Also registers Werewolf and VampireLord as uber races for proper transformation.

Particulars

This mod has no scripts, and no ESP's. It is only comprised by an SKSE DLL plugin, compatible and tested with Skyrim SE/AE GOG version 1179, and should also work with Skyrim SE/AE Steam version 1170.

By default it will spoof only the player character's race, not NPC's. This can be toggled in the settings file Data/SKSE/Plugins/YZX/CurrentRaceTranslation_a_Settings.yzx. Logging comes disabled by default, but can also be toggled in the same settings file. Please note that if you enable both NPC race spoofing and logging, every single race interaction will be logged to file, which may cause stuttering on crowded places if you are using a particularly slow or heaviliy used storage. I test on a Samsung NVME and I don't have stuttering or slowdowns whatsoever, but I know it will happen on different setups and someone has already reported this behavior. So only enable NPC spoofing + logging if you want to debug something, otherwise just keep logging disabled for normal use.

The optional files, labeled with the prefix "Xarxes", are modules for another mod of mine Xarxes. These modules are simple lua scripts that run once when your game runs, and it applies any racial bonuses and spells from your vanilla races to both UBE and COR custom races. So if you are using mods that modify the skill bonuses and racial spells, they will be automatically applied to UBE/COR races. What this means is you no longer need ESP's in your load order patching those races for Imperius, or any other racial mod. These modules can be used regardless of whether you use Race Blood Test. Their only requirement is SKSE and Xarxes. You can grab any of
