📋 About This Mod

permissions: anyone can port, change, whatever my mods so long as they credit me, and the mod(s) are not involved in anything

being sold or something illegal. Happy modding. :)

*Also, sorry but I won't be doing patches for any mods I don't use; and also may not depending on whether it's something I actually know how to patch and have the energy for.

Hearthfire, Dragonborn, and Dawnguard required

-Each 'chapel' may or may not have a priest or attendees depending on size and if I felt like putting a person in there.

-Priest/esses have some kind of simple wander/sleep schedule they may or may not stick to, they seem to at least sweep the floors sometimes. They don't say anything particularly priestly as I do not know how to do all that script/dialogue stuff and my ck hates it. The worshippers, as well, just... wander and use any idles. They will stay put in the chapels they are at. Almost everyone sans the imperials in Dragonbridge respawn.

-Everything is owned by the priests, but every chapel is public.

-All containers respawn I believe, so don't put anything in them! This includes the donation chests, which have only a pittance in gold.

-Each 'chapel' has shrines I thought were appropriate to the area.

-I did make a patch for this Hearthfire Carriages mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/34173 cause I do have that mod and it conflicted with the Morthal chapel.

Darkwater Crossing:

-small cave

-one miner worshipper

-two benches

-shrines to Arkay, Zenithar, and Mara

-chapel. Main room, priest's room(bed, cooking pot, storage, etc)

-a sailor worshipper and priest

-a few benches and idles

-shrines to Mephala, Boethiah, Azura, and the Eight Divines

Dragonbridge:

-chapel. Main room, priestess's room(bed, cooking pot, storage, etc)

-two imperial soldiers and priestess

-a few benches and idles

-shrines to Mara, Julianos, Akatosh, Stendarr, and Arkay

-chapel, main room, priest and acolyte's room(bed, cooking pot, storage, 'secret')

-hunter worshipper, priest, and acolyte

-some benches and idles

-shrines to Akatosh and Kyne/Kynareth

Karthwasten:

-small cave, little room for if Dibellan priestess comes by(idk, maybe they are not allowed to stay with family??? Don't know lorestuff)

-shrines to Dibella, Zenithar, and Kyne/Kynareth

-chapel. Main room, priestess's room(bed, cooking pot, storage, etc)

-a fisherman worshipper and priestess

-a couple benches and idles

-shrines to Zenithar, Stendarr, and Arkay

-small cave

-a couple benches

-shrines to Zenithar and Mara

Rorikstead:

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

Quaint Skyrim Chapels adds small, lore-friendly chapels to Darkwater Crossing, Dawnstar, and Dragonbridge, each with shrines, priests, and worshippers. Requires Hearthfire, Dragonborn, and Dawnguard DLCs. A niche immersion mod with 86 endorsements, last updated March 2024.

✨ Key Features

Adds chapels to Darkwater Crossing, Dawnstar, and Dragonbridge with appropriate shrines.
Each chapel includes priests or worshippers with simple wander/sleep schedules.
All chapels are public and containers respawn, so don't store items in them.
Includes a patch for the Hearthfire Carriages mod to resolve a conflict with the Morthal chapel.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Adds cozy, lore-friendly places of worship to small settlements that lack them.
  • Priests and worshippers have simple schedules, making the world feel a bit more alive.
  • Open permissions—you can port or modify it as long as you credit the author.

⚠️ Cons

  • Requires all three DLCs (Hearthfire, Dragonborn, Dawnguard), so base-game players are out of luck.
  • No custom dialogue or scripts—priests won't say anything priestly, which might break immersion for some.
  • Containers respawn, so you can't safely store items in the chapels, which is a minor inconvenience.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Skyrim players who enjoy small immersion touches and want a place to pray in minor settlements. If you're looking for deep NPC interactions or quests, this isn't it—it's purely atmospheric.
📦 Install:Easy· Under 5 minutes

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Make sure you own all three DLCs before installing, or the mod won't work.
  • If you use the Hearthfire Carriages mod, grab the included patch to avoid a conflict with the Morthal chapel.
  • Don't store items in the chapel containers—they respawn and your stuff will vanish.
