📋 About This Mod
PBR (physically based rendering) approximates how real materials react to light and is used in most modern games. PBR is a part of Community Shaders that has several benefits which includes more realistic lighting than in vanilla and complex material. To achieve this I have unbaked shadows from diffuse maps, upscaled them using an AI model, created separate Ambient Occlusion maps, and roughness maps and also parallax maps.
Installation:
- []Install like any other mod and make sure that you have version 1. 0 or above of Community Shaders installed
- []Overwrite The Great Cities - Resources with this mod. Make sure no other mod overwrites this one (except ParallaxGen output later).
- Rerun ParallaxGen

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 223 endorsements and over 152k downloads—clearly a go-to for PBR fans.
- Breathes new life into city textures with PBR, making surfaces look more realistic under lighting.
- Regularly updated (last December 2024), so it's kept in step with current modding trends.
⚠️ Cons
- Requires a PBR-enabled setup (like ENB or reshade with PBR support) to see the benefits—without that, it's just a texture swap.
- Only affects The Great Cities Collection, so if you don't use those mods, this is useless.
- Potential compatibility issues with other texture overhauls that modify the same files—load order matters.
For Skyrim SE players who use The Great Cities Collection and have a PBR-capable ENB or reshade, this is a must-have to make those cities pop. If you're not into PBR or don't use those city mods, skip it—it's purely a visual upgrade for a specific setup.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have a PBR-enabled ENB or reshade preset, otherwise the textures won't look any different.
- Load this mod after The Great Cities Collection in your mod manager to ensure the textures overwrite correctly.
- If you use other texture mods for cities, place this one last to avoid conflicts.
