📋 About This Mod
Description
Fixes candles, fires and other particle emitters from going out when there is too many using SKSE for a patchless solution. There is a ini file included to set the caps yourself if you want.
Source
This is a simple mod that works by hooking post create to patch meshes the first time the game loads them.
It also through NiParticlesData::LoadBinary patches some info on particle emitter nifs only because it wasn't safe to do so during post create.
Performance
This mod gives 0. 0000001 performance impact because it only patches the mesh once the first time its loaded, you may notice performance hits in areas with allot of candles, this is not an additional overhead from this mod itself, but just a result of having more active particles on screen. however considering this is a game from the 2011 made for the ps3 I dont think you'll notice performance impact from this.

Particle Limit Uncapper is a Skyrim SE/AE mod that removes the game's particle emitter limit, preventing candles and fires from going out when too many are active. It uses SKSE to patch meshes on load, with an optional INI file for custom caps. Performance impact is negligible, as it only patches once per mesh.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 473 endorsements and over 12k downloads.
- Zero ongoing performance cost—patches meshes once and forgets.
- Simple INI tweak lets you set your own particle caps.
⚠️ Cons
- Requires SKSE and Address Library, so it's not for console or vanilla purists.
- Areas with lots of candles may still see FPS drops due to more active particles, though that's not the mod's fault.
- Compatibility risk with other mods that alter particle systems or use similar hooks.
For Skyrim players who've noticed candles and fires mysteriously going out in crowded dungeons or cities. If you're running a modded setup with lots of light sources, this is a must-have. Skip if you're on console or don't use SKSE.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have SKSE64 installed and launch the game through skse64_loader.exe, not the default launcher.
- If you use a mod manager like MO2, install the mod normally and let it overwrite any conflicting INI files.
- Test in a candle-heavy area like the Riften Ratway to see the fix in action.
