Like many people, I've always hated the Elven skin tones in the game. To me, I didn't understand why Wood Elves were the color of wood, and the High Elves had skin the color of mold. The human skin tones aren't as bad, but there didn't seem to be much realism, and I thought many of them too red or too orange. Another complaint I had was that the sexes had completely different tones. Men were so dark, and women rather fair, but where are all the fair Nord men? Most of them live in snowy areas, but many of them were walking around with a nice Mediterranean tan! It made no sense.

I had other complaints, and as I reworked most of the skintones in the game, I decided to strike a balance between realism and lore. So this mod has something for everyone, and it's still true when someone utters the epithet, "Grayskin", you'll know who they are talking about. Elisif also now really lives up to her name, as she's more fair than ever.

ElvesElves have a bit more consistency when it comes to their skin, no longer are they all over the map. The lighter tones are very light, and can be used for your Elven vampires. High Elves are still golden, but not ridiculously so. Dark Elves are still Gray, but there is a lot more variation in the range now, and I got rid of the dark green, because I personally don't like my elves looking like swamp creatures. Wood Elves are still tan, but that too has been toned down a good deal. All males and females share the same skin tone, but depending on the textures you use results can vary quite a bit.

HumansI did all ten light skin tones and divided them up with three hues- white, pink and golden. The lightest is of course meant for vampires and redheads. The second tone is meant for people that live in snowy regions. It's much more fair than a non-modded game, but not outrageously so. In the pictures my women are a tad more pale than the men are even though they use the exact same skin tone. I'm pretty sure it's because of the skin texture I'm using.

New in 1. 2- Redguard skintones are finally here. I divided them up into two groups- warm and cool tones. The lightest skintone is meant for vampires and it would probably work if you are playing a mixed-race character. The lightest is just slightly darker than the darkest light tone used for the other human races, but it expands with a wider range than a non-modded game, so that your darkest skintones are even darker than the originals were. This offers greater diversity, and makes Redguard characters more fluid.
