📋 About This Mod
The original mod is required, overwrite or replace the meshes with the ones from this mod.
The polycount for this version is ~ 2300 tris (~ 10% of the original)
For further optimization download also the Hanging Dead Pheasants Replacer - Ring-necked Pheasants - My optimized textures SE by XTUDO
Added an optional patch for Nature's Bounty by Jelidity if you want to use the optimized meshes with his mod.
My goal is to reduce the polycount of these meshes as much as possible while still retaining their original shape.
The optimized models will give you increased performance with minimal impact on visual quality.
I do this for the people that want to increase their fps, run their PC cooler, play SKYRIM VR
or simply do not have a PC powerful enough to run the original version of the mods.

This is a low-poly mesh replacement for Mihail's Ring-necked Pheasants mod, with no ESP, meaning it's a pure visual optimization. It's for Skyrim Special Edition and Anniversary Edition players who want better performance without losing the creature. With 362 endorsements and 93,313 downloads, it's a popular choice for those seeking a lighter load.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Performance-friendly: low poly meshes reduce GPU load, great for heavy mod lists
- No ESP means no plugin slot used, keeps load order clean
- Community-trusted: 362 endorsements and 93k downloads show it's widely used
⚠️ Cons
- Visual downgrade: low poly means less detail, so if you're a graphics snob, you'll notice
- Requires the original Mihail mod, so you need to install that first
- Only affects pheasants, so it's a niche optimization—don't expect broader performance gains
For Skyrim players who love Mihail's creatures but need to squeeze out extra FPS, especially on lower-end rigs or with heavy mod lists. If you're a completionist who wants every creature without the performance hit, this is for you. Skip if you prioritize visual fidelity over performance.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Install the original Mihail mod first, then overwrite its meshes with this one.
- Use a mod manager like Vortex or MO2 to ensure proper file overwrite order.
- Since there's no ESP, you don't need to worry about load order placement—just let it overwrite.
