📋 About This Mod

RaySense is an SKSE plugin designed to extend the capabilities of the Open Animation Replacer (OAR). It utilizes real-time Havok raycasting to detect verticality, slopes, obstacles, and surface types.

What's new in 1. 2. 0

RaySense_Ledge — the inverse of the cliff drop. Instead of asking how far the ground falls away, it asks how high the thing in front of you is, and how much of a top it has to stand on. Tables, workbenches, crates, barrels, railings and ledges all report their height, distance, and the measured width of their top surface.

The existing verticality sensors could never answer this: they clamp anything above the player to 0. Ledge scans from above instead, so a top that overhangs its legs — an enchanting or tempering table — is detected normally.

Also in this release:

  • []Every global variable listed below now actually exists in the ESP. Nine of them were documented but missing.[/]

[]Sensors no longer keep a stale water depth after you sit down.[/]

[]Sensor state is properly reset when you load a save.[/]

[]The debug overlay is no longer initialised when bEnableDebugDraw=0.[/]

[]Lower idle cost — surface sampling no longer runs every frame while you stand still.[/]

    OAR Custom Conditions Reference

These consolidated conditions are available in the OAR UI and config.json.

    1. RaySense_Verticality (Elevation)

    • []Index 0 (Front) : Elevation diff (80 units ahead). (Predicts landing spot while mid-air)[/]

      []Index 1 (Left) : Elevation diff (50 units left).[/]

      []Index 2 (Right) : Elevation diff (50 units right).[/]

[]Index 3 (Player) : Distance to solid ground.[/]

[]Index 4 (SurfaceType) : Material ID of the ground.[/]

      []Index 5 (PlatformType) : 1 : Moving Platform, 2 : Actor.[/]

[]Index 6 (CliffDist) : Horizontal distance to a cliff edge ahead (within 80 units). Returns 999 when no cliff is found.[/]

[]Index 7 (CliffDrop) : Drop height at the detected cliff edge (up to 4000). Returns 0 when no cliff is found.[/]

Example: CliffDist < 30 AND CliffDrop > 300 means "a deep cliff is right in front of you" — ideal for edge-peek or hesitation animations.

    2. RaySense_Slope (Angles)

    • []Index 0 (Surface) : Physical surface angle.[/]

[]Index 1 (Front) : Macro terrain slope ahead. (Supports uphill/downhill)[/]

[]Index 2 (Left) : Macro terrain slope on left.[/]

[]Index 3 (Right) : Macro terrain slope on right.[/]

Note: Steep slopes (>75°) identified as walls are automatically treated as 0.[/

  • Tiny add-on that slots right into OAR setups

⚠️ Cons

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Make sure Open Animation Replacer is installed and up to date before adding this.

  • Use a mod manager to keep track of OAR add-ons and avoid overwriting conflicts.
