📋 About This Mod
What is this?
This is a "Experimental" mod I make when I trying to fix a combat issue when developing PROJECT SKYRIM.
Which is : NPC keeping Blocking when player keep attacking until NPC dead.
1. This mod make NPC into "Exhaustion" state when run out of stamina (stamina hit 0).
2. NPC can't start blocking during "Exhaustion" state.
3. NPC recover (hit 100% stamina) to out of Exhaustion.
This can effect NPC and the gameplay logic depends on what mods interaction you have. like stamina management mod, SCAR for NPC combo.
Even on it's own, it still make a huge difference.
It create a window for player to attack, make NPC vulnerable after they attacked you with all their strength(run out of stamina).
This "Exhaustion" state can also used by other mod as a condition, or add a magic effect on it.
Like work as a "framework" to work with other mods such as EVG Conditional Idles / EVG Conditionals extended
You can use the spell "IsExhaustionSpell(0x803)" for other interaction like OAR mod like use as a condition or to make a damage debuff etc.
eg. HasSpell("NPC No Block Exhaustion.esp"|0x803)
Configuration MCM
NPC No Block Exhaustion - MCM make by Patchu1i
Thanks to Patchu1i, you can now customize the exhaustion and recovery thresholds in game using MCM!!
Requirement
Spell Perk Item Distributor (SPID)
With Valhalla Combat Exhaustion
If you using Valhalla Combat with it's Exhaustion feature, NPC can't attack once they run out of stamina until fully recover.
However, they can still block, and blocking cost stamina, which make them can't fully recover.
If player keep attacking them, it stop them form recover to get out of Exhaustion, and they have to block because they can't attack, and will lost stamina by it.
So they end up will block forever until they killed by player.
With this mod, they can no longer block when exhausting.
GamePlay side It go both ways:
For Player, it is your time to strike, try to kill them before they catch up their breathe, also rewards you for surviving their deadly combos.
For NPC, they will no longer try to block which slow down their recover(which will cause their doom), instead, they will refreshes themselves as fast as they can and back to the fight fairly.
NPC No Block - Exhaustion is a lightweight combat mod for Skyrim that makes NPCs unable to block when their stamina is depleted, putting them into an 'Exhaustion' state. It works well with Valhalla Combat Exhaustion and can serve as a framework for other interactions. With 534 endorsements and nearly 300k downloads, it's a popular quality-of-life tweak for stamina-focused combat.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 534 endorsements and nearly 300k downloads.
- Pairs perfectly with Valhalla Combat Exhaustion for a more punishing stamina system.
- Lightweight and does one thing well—no bloat.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in June 2024—may not be compatible with the latest Skyrim updates or mods.
- No detailed documentation or install instructions provided by the author.
- Requires Valhalla Combat Exhaustion for full effect, so it's not standalone for that experience.
For Skyrim players who want more tactical combat where stamina management matters against NPCs. If you're already using Valhalla Combat or similar stamina overhauls, this is a must-have. Skip if you prefer vanilla combat or don't care about stamina mechanics.
