📋 About This Mod
Overview
This is a collection of SPID inis for Nirn Necessities that rarely distributes its masks, capes, scarves, and satchels throughout the world. While the focus is largely on hostile bandits and warlocks, by default the scarves will only cover residents in the Pale, Eastmarch, and Winterhold regions; certain world encounter NPCs and the three Hearthfire bards are guaranteed specific capes, and a handful of College-affiliated and in-dungeon mage NPCs will (or can, in the College's case barring a few specific guarantees) receive specific satchels. The College Satchel ini natively supports OCW and ICNs' NPCs; SPID will skip over their lines if you don't have either/both mods installed.
The requisite distribution spells' scripts have also been slightly edited to (hopefully) prevent them from re-distributing on generic NPCs and causing some bandits to carry Lando's cape collection on their person due to a quirk with SPID's distribution on reload.
I've added Exclusive Groups to the bandit capes and masks, cold-region scarves, and warlock satchels files to ensure that multiple NN distribution spells of the same "type" don't apply to the same NPC; while this should prevent a random bandit from potentially having both masks and/or capes from NN, this requires SPID 7. 0+ to function. Additionally, this doesn't address potential overlap with things like RMB's SkyPatched cloak mods, so do be mindful when using my distribution with either/both of those together!
Please be mindful of the performance impact when using the non-mask inis; too many SMP-rigged accessories loaded in at once will take their toll on the game. You can configure or delete parts of my inis if the conservative distribution is still too taxing for your system. I'd also suggest taking a look at Xtudo's non-SMP meshes if you don't mind more potential clipping.
There are a few limitations to note with the mask ini in particular that are shared with similar face mask mods:
-
[]These masks will clip with beards and some custom faces, depending on their sculpts. I recommend using Beard Mask Fix if you're on SSE 1. 6. 640 (or this for 1. 5. 97 users) to deal with beard clipping hassle-free. There may be issues with beards disappearing if you use this fix on 1. 6. 1170; you have been warned.
[
]The masks will conflict with other mods that have their own Face Masks of Skyrim distribution solutions, such as Wet and Cold and Fashions of the Fourth Era. At worst, you'll just see an extra mask in a bandit's inventory. - The scripted distribution cannot determine if a bandit is wearing an obviously closed face helmet, such as Bonemold. See below for more details on my workaround.
Other than these points for the masks, the usual clipping/overlap warnings stands for the capes, scarves, and satchels. If you're a CBBE/3BA user, I recommend using any and all satchel/clutter zaps available
