📋 About This Mod

With permission from fxckthisworld I have added new, downscaled textures for the amazing Nature of the Wild Lands mod. Nature of the Wild Lands has pretty thin trees so there should very little to no visual difference (I play on a 32 inch 4k monitor and I can only tell a difference when I stand right in front of the tree in first person).

Textures are for the most part half resolution from vanilla NOTWL with other optimizations as necessary.

YOU NEED THE ORIGINAL MOD FOR THIS TO WORK. Load these textures after NOTWL.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Huge download count (199,860) shows it's a go-to for performance seekers.
  • Simple concept: get more FPS without losing the look of NOTWL.
  • Recently updated (January 2026) so it's likely compatible with current game versions.

⚠️ Cons

  • Texture downscaling can make some surfaces look blurry up close.
  • Only helps if you're GPU-bound; if your CPU is the bottleneck, you won't see much gain.
  • Compatibility with other texture mods that alter the same files could cause conflicts.
🎯 Is This For You?
For players who love the Nature of the Wild Lands overhaul but struggle with performance. If you're getting low FPS in dense forest areas, this mod is a no-brainer. Skip if you have a high-end rig and don't need the extra frames.
📦 Install:Easy· Under 1 minute

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Make sure you have the original NOTWL mod installed first, as this is a patch for it.
  • If you're using a mod manager, install this after NOTWL to ensure it overwrites the textures correctly.
  • Test in a forest area to see the FPS difference; if it's still low, consider other performance mods.
