📋 About This Mod
With version 7. 0. 14 and up, SSE Engine Fixes provides a true fix for this bug, allowing all edits to the original cells. Since mods made that way are fundamentally incompatible with anything made with this worse duplicate cell solution, this mod should be considered obsolete and, following updates to dependent mods, will be hidden. Please DO NOT create any more mods based on this file.
Old description while still active:
What does this mod do?
This mod is a supplementary master file (ESM) that copies the Myrwatch interior and makes it usable to mod authors. All relevant
references have been updated and the quest fully playtested to ensure it functions correctly and will provide a stable platform to build off of.
Without this implementation, a mod editing Myrwatch's new cells will cause that cell to break due to the creation being an ESM flagged ESL.
Effectively, this ESM is a platform for people to make house overhauls.
Compatibility
This mod should be compatible with anything that edits Myrwatch unless it edits the existing cells (somehow), in which case the change would need to be redone in the new cells. A USCCCP patch has been provided to forward the activator changes it makes.
No edits have been made to any statics or furniture themselves, so visual/functional overhauls are 100% compatible.
This bug fix addresses a critical issue with Myrwatch, a Creation Club home in Skyrim, where its ESM-flagged ESL setup breaks cells when other mods modify them. The mod creates a copy of the cell and repoints necessary parts, allowing mods to edit Myrwatch without breaking it. With 4,450 endorsements and 4.0M downloads, it's a widely used workaround for modders and players.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Massive community trust: 4.0M downloads and 4,450 endorsements show this is the go-to fix.
- Solves a real headache for modders—Myrwatch's ESM-flagged ESL setup breaks cells when other mods touch them.
- Lightweight and focused: does one job (cell copy) without adding extra bloat.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2022—might not be tested with the latest Skyrim updates or newer mods.
- Requires understanding of how ESM-flagged ESLs work; not for casual players who just want to install and play.
- Only addresses the cell-breaking issue; doesn't add new features or content to Myrwatch.
For Skyrim modders and players who use mods that alter Myrwatch and have run into the cell-breaking bug. If you're a completionist who wants to customize your home with other mods, this is essential. Skip if you never touch Myrwatch or don't use mods that edit it.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure to load this mod after any mods that edit Myrwatch to ensure the repointing works correctly.
- If you're using a mod manager, let it handle the file placement—manual install is just dropping the esp into your Data folder.
- Check the mod's posts section for any compatibility notes with popular Myrwatch overhaul mods.
