📋 About This Mod
I've made this mod for myself. I wanted to have less MCM-menus, less unnecessary functionality, just a minimalistic auto-save mod with a simple script and reasonable autosave conditions.
AutoSave conditions:
- if not in battle;
- if not moving or rotating;
- if having more than 5% HP;
- if not attacking, blocking, aiming with a bow;
- not during the first minutes after loading the game (upon loading, the countdown restarts);
- if not in a menu (there might be some exceptions);
- if not knocked, restrained, not in a scene...
- if not riding a mount (including flying)
If conditions are not met, the autosave event doesn't get skipped. It will be triggered soon after the conditions are met. (Accept when you are in a dialogue with an NPC, outside of a scene, or in some unique menus. In this case Autosave might get skipped and will happen only after another full interval of chosen 'min.between saves')
Without add-ons in the optional files (SE), the minimum time between auto-saves is 4 minutes.
Use the optional files to change the time between saves or if you know how to use SSEEdit, you can change:
- the minimum time between saves (aaakG_Minutes_between_saves);
- which save should be a normal save (aaakG_Which_save_is_regular) (set to 0 to disable this type of saves)
(see the picture at the top)
After changing the values, you'll see the change after the first or second save (with the old values).
How to disable vanilla auto-saves:
Do it in the settings menu, or in SkyrimPrefs.ini set these values to 0:
bSaveOnPause
bSaveOnTravel
bSaveOnWait
bSaveOnRest
But leave bDisableAutoSave in Skyrim.ini at 0, because we don't want to disable the auto-save events completely.
