What it does
This is just a tool for Mod Organizer 2 using python to check versions against their current nexus version, in the case that a mod author updates their mod but doesn't actually make it the latest version. Which causes MO2 to throw errors on the version numbers for the mods in your list and displays big ugly warning labels next to them, it always bothered me and I hated doing it manually so I made this.
This tool does
not
update your mods for you, so in the case that a mod author does it correctly, you should still be checking for mod updates with MO2. This tool is just to automate the process of fixing version numbers for you so you don't have to go in manually fixing each one.
Instructions
To use this tool, you need Mod Organizer 2. And you need to place this script inside of the MO2 plugins folder. Then simply relaunch MO2 and open the Tools menu and it should be there labeled "Mod Version Fixer"
Upon running the tool, it will open a file explorer in which you will need to navigate to your "mods" folder and click select. It will then go through all subfolders containing a meta.ini and match newest version to regular version to clear the errors.
Note
To emphasize, this tool does
NOTupdate your mods for you. It clears the errors that exist in versioning when an author does not match the current version as the latest version. Just want to clarify that this tool matches version strings in the meta data. This is not to update your mods, check for actual updates beforehand and then run this to clear errors when an author does not mark their update as the latest version.
