📋 About This Mod
-----Sorry for the mix-up folks! The file is now included, and ready for downloading! (2 Nov 2016)-----
Ever wondered why on Nirn they made Miraak wear robes with light armored boots and gloves? Ever wonder why those light armor boots didn't seem to work right with light armor perks? Or maybe why they didn't cancel out the Mage Armor perks? It never made sense to me, so after some digging I found the coding that gave Miraak's Boots their weight and armor rating, and discovered that in spite of that they were classified as clothing. WEIRD RIGHT?
Anyway, this mod has 2 different pieces that are mutually exclusive from each other. One part will turn the gloves and boots into pure unarmored pieces to match the robes. The other part will turn the robes into a light armor piece of gear (the armor is equivalent to Glass armor, in line with the boots), and fixed the wonky code so it'll actually cancel out Mage Armor perks, and benefit from Light Armor perks.
Now you can go out as Miraak in your own way. Light armored spellsword, or unarmored magician.
Please note - you only need ONE of these files. You can't use both as one will overwrite the other. Also, this fix does not apply to Miraak's mask. It already has it's own coding for deciding which mask drops. If you use Light armor, then you'll automatically get the one you want. If you use robes then you can use the mage's circlet from the College quest just as easily.
Miraak's Armor Fixes by Achloryn offers full Light Armor or Unarmored versions of Miraak's gear, addressing a common complaint about the original set's mixed armor types. With 184 endorsements and over 6,800 downloads, it's a niche but appreciated tweak for Skyrim players who want more flexibility in their Dragonborn DLC armor.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 184 endorsements and 6,812 downloads
- Gives you two new ways to wear Miraak's gear, so you're not stuck with the weird mixed armor types
- Simple concept that directly addresses a real annoyance for many players
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2016, so it may not be compatible with the latest Skyrim versions or mods
- Only changes armor type—no visual or gameplay overhauls, so if you wanted more, this isn't it
- Potential conflicts with other mods that alter Miraak's armor or its stats
For Skyrim players who love Miraak's aesthetic but hate that his armor is a mix of light and heavy pieces. If you're a mage or stealth character who wants to wear it without the heavy armor penalty, this is a must-have. Skip if you're fine with the original armor types or want more than just a rebalance.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure to load this mod after any mods that change Miraak's armor to avoid conflicts.
- If you're using a mod manager, you can preview the armor in-game to see which version you prefer before committing.
- Check the mod's compatibility with your Skyrim version—since it's from 2016, it might need a patch for Special Edition.
