Male Armor Tutorial (with SOS and Vanilla BodySlide references)

A lot of you have been asking me for my skincare routine how I make my armors.

Seeing as there are almost no tutorial meant for male body everywhere I look, I took it upon myself to write a (possibly detailed) tutorial of how my process go by piecing knowledge gained from various people within the community.

This is my first tutorial, and it doesn't help that English is not my first language; so if there are anything you feel unclear or confusing, please feel free to let me know in the comments and hopefully I can improve it better. If there are also anything not covered by the guide, feel free to ask me.

As a disclaimer, I should note that this tutorial doesn't teach you how to model an armor from scratch in 3ds Max/Blender/Maya/etc; I believe there are more professionals who can explain that process on Youtube and various online courses.

Instead, my tutorial assume you already have the armor mesh at your disposal and will guide you the process of bringing them to Skyrim.

The tutorial comes in a PDF format. It's a 78-page, step-by-step tutorial with pictures. My writing style might be boring and I'm sorry if that's the case, but I hope you learned something out of it.

Additionally, I also include several BodySlide/Outfit Studio files that I used while making this tutorial (and the rest of my armors).

You can use then as a template to make your own custom armor with custom mesh for Male body, intended for Vanilla body and SOS body.

Each files has Weight 0 to 1 sliders, that you can peruse to conform your imported meshes (OBJ or NIF) and morph it into the desired weight (_0 and _1. NIF).

Additionally, the meshes are weighted, so you can use it as a reference to 'Copy Bone Weights', assuming you're importing an OBJ mesh.

For SOS Body, you have :

• [] SOS Male Ref, which consist of the whole body and Undies.

  [] SOS Male Ref (NSFW), which consist of the whole body and genitals mesh, instead of the Undies.

  [] SOS Male Ref (Arms), which consist the arms part only, useful if you want to refit gauntlets without getting it to clip with the spine/ribs

  [] SOS Male Ref (Merged), which consist the whole body and Undies, merged as a single shape, which can be used as a template to be exported to external 3D modelling software, or be used to conform a full set of armor immediately.

  Additionally, a separated project files for each body parts, to be included in your armor/gloves/gauntlets pieces.
