📋 About This Mod

This mod introduces gradual stress accumulation while adventuring. The MCM allows full configuration of when and where stress increases, condtions for preventing stress gain, the ability to add/exclude locations, and more. Lightweight

Light the Way is a companion mod for the excellent Stress and Fear by jayserpa. With LTW installed, stress-increase is no longer restricted to taking damage from enemies. The MCM provides options for gradual stress accumulation in interior and exterior locations.

Skyrim is supposed to be a wild and dangerous place. Yet you can venture into falmer infested caves, stroll casually through hagraven nests, and visit vampire lairs like a tourist without it affecting your stress level one bit if you don't take damage from enemies. No longer.

With this mod, you get total control of when, where, and by how much your stress-level increases as you explore. Make it a true adventure that requires preparation. Bring a light source or have friends with you to avoid accumulating stress. Rest by a campfire, knowing that you're safe from the dangers lurking in the shadows. Travel without fear during the day, but be on high-alert at night. Virtually every setting can be adjusted to your preferences.

Note: LTW does NOT alter any of Stress and Fear's existing mechanics. Everything in it works exactly the same. This mod simply expands how you can gain stress.

STRESS ACCUMULATION

The default MCM settings cause stress to accumulate at a rate of 1 point every 60 seconds in interior locations like dungeons and caves as well as in exterior locations that are dangerous (bandit camps, hagraven nests, etc.). Outdoor stress accumulation only occurs between 8:00 at night and 5:00 in the morning, but you can toggle off the night-only option if you prefer to experience exterior stress at all hours.

The script checks the current cell for its location type keywords to determine if stress accumulation can occur. The best way to avoid stressful locations while traveling is to use roads, though you may still have to pass through dangerous areas. Open wilderness cells without keywords are stress-free zones, but enter a forsworn camp, and you'll start accumulating stress (depending on your settings of course). If you didn't have a compelling enough reason to fast-travel before, you do now.

PREVENTING STRESS ACCUMULATION

There are a number of ways to prevent stress accumulation. The title of the mod is, of course, Light the Way, with the idea being that most people will set it up so that they accumulate stress in dark creepy places like dungeons and caves and while outside at night. However, you can disable the n
