📋 About This Mod
Took me a bit longer to move on with this...
This mod is just my personal cut on the UBE eyes. Since UBE is a modern body/head overhaul, it already has proper eye structure (inner eye + outer shell + separate lenses), so I could mess around with it a bit.
Eyes don’t use specular power or gloss at all.
CHANGES:
Inner eye breaks light in the inner/outer corners, makes the eye look a bit less flat when looking from the front. Main job is just to cover the sclera.
Outer eye covers iris and pupil. I focused the light mostly on that part and limited it on the sclera, so it gives that little “bulb” effect in the middle.
Irises are sometimes blurred, which you’ll notice up close. I did that because I don’t like super sharp irises and they look too fake to me. Blur gives more of this jelly/meaty look, which I really like for eyes.
I have no issues with the default AO so it was only slightly changed. I just gave it more opacity so it’s not that strong, and also fixed the clipping in the inner corner (I hope).
I flipped the UVs of the left eyeball because it was pointing outside with its textures, which was a problem since I have additional vessels on the texture made just for the caruncula... and they appeared outside.
Like I said on the forbidden site in WIP posts, this mod was made with ENB in mind, because I use ENB myself. Colors in Rudy ENB are very saturated, so I’m not 100% sure how it will look for others, but different for sure. You can always tweak it in settings or directly on textures.
Along with update 3. 0, some fixed EM3 textures are included as the base. UBE meshes face the same issue as my AEA mod, so this was the only way to use Khisartin’s textures to their full potential.
In the optional files you’ll find separate files that you can load after the main mod. EFU are standalone by default, but I also made a package that overwrites the default UBE eyes, so every eye mod you have installed (as long as it uses vanilla UV eyeball) will use my new meshes.
My Aretuza Eyes can also work with the new meshes if you want to do that, basically refining all those 179 textures.
Vobla for testing
Vayura for help
Toto for testing and your 5 takes on the eye colors
Johny for permission to grab and change the UBE eye meshes
Khisartin for EM3 textures
1. I give open permission to use my mods in standalone followers and NPC overhauls, but
you are not allowed to include any meshe
LDD - Eyes For UBE is a cosmetic mod that overhauls the eye textures and meshes for the UBE body/head overhaul in Skyrim. It adds realistic light refraction, blurred irises for a jelly-like look, and fixes UV issues on the left eyeball. Designed with ENB in mind, it includes optional files and updated EM3 textures. For players using UBE who want more natural, less flat eyes.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solid community backing with 189 endorsements and over 13k downloads.
- Fixes a real UV issue on the left eyeball that caused textures to appear outside.
- Adds a subtle 'bulb' effect to the iris that makes eyes look more natural up close.
⚠️ Cons
- Color tuning is built for Rudy ENB, so it may look off with other ENBs or vanilla lighting.
- Requires UBE as a base, so it's useless if you don't use that body/head overhaul.
- Blurred irises might not appeal to players who prefer sharp, detailed eye textures.
For Skyrim players who use UBE and want more realistic, less flat eyes with a natural jelly-like iris. If you're running Rudy ENB, this mod is tuned for that look. Skip if you don't use UBE or prefer sharp, high-detail eye textures.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Load the optional files after the main mod to tweak eye appearance without overwriting everything.
- If you're not using Rudy ENB, adjust the eye texture colors in your ENB settings or directly on the textures to match your setup.
- Make sure UBE is installed first, as this mod replaces its eye meshes and textures.
