📋 About This Mod
I did look at some other mod as an example of how to write such script.
It's just a power with a papyrus script that executes the crouch, roll and stand animations, nothing major.
You could basically already do all of that in the vanilla game, but this mod just makes it way more convenient.
Current limitations are:
1. First person, does work now, but it's less responsive, since the player sheaths and then draws a weapon during the animation.
2. It's a power, you can't bind it to a key yet.
3. After you dodge in third person, you're still in sneaking in first person. You can dodge again in first person, and the character will exit sneaking.
4. If you're fighting guards, the first person dodge includes sheathing animations, and guards may start a dialogue with you.
5. If you have a spell in your right hand, first person roll won't execute properly.
6. Bound Weapons aren't compatible with first person roll.
Most of the jank comes from this mod being papyrus, rather than behavior based. So it's probably not solvable. I made this mod specifically, cause every time I have to clean my folder of behavior files, because I can't always use them in Skyrim Together without drawbacks.
True Directional Movement is highly recommended.
I recently removed Silent Roll perk requirement, since it's more fun that way.
It doesn't actually conflict with any other dodge mod, you can use them together if you want. Besides, this mod won't replace an actual behavior based dodge mod. My implementation isn't nearly as fluent and responsive as dodge from CGO for example. I made this mod because I wanted some simple non behavior based dodge roll mod, so I don't have to clean my game folder of behavior files.

Lame Dodge is a lightweight Skyrim mod that adds a dodge roll power using Papyrus scripts, executing crouch, roll, and stand animations. It's designed for players who want a simple dodge without behavior file conflicts, especially for Skyrim Together. It has known limitations in first person and with spells, and True Directional Movement is recommended.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- No behavior files means you can use it with Skyrim Together without cleaning your folder.
- Works alongside other dodge mods, so you can stack it if you want.
- Simple and lightweight, just a power with a script, nothing heavy.
⚠️ Cons
- First person dodge is janky: sheathing animations, spell incompatibility, and guards may start dialogue.
- It's a power, so you can't bind it to a hotkey directly, which is less convenient.
- Third person dodge leaves you sneaking in first person until you dodge again, which is annoying.
For Skyrim players who want a basic dodge roll without messing with behavior files, especially if you play Skyrim Together. Also good for those who want a simple, non-intrusive dodge that doesn't conflict with other mods. Skip if you need a polished, responsive dodge like CGO — this is a janky but functional alternative.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Use True Directional Movement for better camera control during rolls.
- Avoid using spells or bound weapons in your right hand when dodging in first person.
- If you're in third person and end up sneaking in first person, just dodge again to exit sneak.
