Do you find yourself wishing you could keep the Skeleton Key, either to complete your collection or to spite Nocturnal? Simply fashion an exact replica of the key, and bring it with you along the Pilgrim's Path, and you can join the original Grey Fox in having swindled Nocturnal herself.
Should you chose to unlock the Ebonmere using a replica key, the original will no longer be considered a quest item upon finishing Darkness Returns, and the hidden perk that makes your lockpicks unbreakable will only activate when the original key is in your inventory (it was originally toggled via the appropriate quests) - so you can choose to store the key and everything will still function as normal.
This mod is unlikely to work on existing save games and won't be supported if you do. But if you must try, make sure you haven't completed Trinity Restored yet.
This mod will be incompatible with any other mod that alters the same scripts - this includes No to Nocturnal
