📋 About This Mod
Simple textures for rain. Heavier storms and realistic rain visuals. Compatible with weather mods.
Description
Vanilla rain is very blue, low resolution, and has tiny droplets like it's dripping from a kitchen faucet. It's kind of cartoony. Probably why there's a dozen rain mods. This is my own replacement textures for rain. Looks best in game rather than screenshots.
I don't own a higher res monitor than 1080p, and YouTube compression kills the quality on any videos under 1440p. Oh well, I tried lol.

To summarize:
-
[]Compatible with weather mods and nearly anything else. It's only textures - no plugin.[/]
[]Double vanilla resolution + BC7 compression. Looks good without wasting VRAM.[/]
[]Neutral grey-blue color. Not over saturated. So should look good with Reshade.[/]
[]Long rain drops that resemble real rain, instead of a leaky faucet.[/]
[]Denser, without being overly dense. A storm's a storm. Rain is rain.[/]
[]Hand drawn by me. No artificial intelligence, just little ol' me.[/]
[]More translucent option in the installer for Cathedral or Azurite.[/]
[]Translucent option works great in VR Skyrim, and will help visibility. (Thanks henryslim!)[/]
Compatibility
Incompatible with True Storms. If you use my mod, you shouldn't need True Storms for heavier rain, and vice versa. Don't use them together.
Compatible with most weather mods. I personally recommend Azurite Weathers and Seasons, but it's up to your preference. =)
For Cathedral and Azurite weather mod users: make sure you pick their Cathedral and Azurite version in the installer. It has tweaked transparency and has support for a new rain texture type that they both add. Otherwise, rain will be hard to see through and not look as intended.
For Community Shaders users: Pair with Pouring Rain if rainy weather with CS seems to have too few rain drops/is hard to see. It's a tiny tweak that raises the rain shader's density, and will work with most weather and rain mods - including mine.
For VR users: also use the Cathedral and Azurite version in the installer. You'll want the extra transparency, for visibility, even without those weather mods.
If another weather mod adds new rain texture types, expect some visual inconsistencies. Let me know and I'll look into making a patch.
