Insightful Shalidor's Insights (esl)

Shalidor's Insights is a repeatable radiant quest from Urag Gro-Shub to track down some old books written by the immensly powerful mage Shalidor... Except all he seems to know how to do is increase the duration and magnitude of one of your magical skills for 2 minutes.

If you're like me, you sell all your scrolls to Foralda for cash because you never want to pull them out in the middle of a battle anyway. This mod aims to make Shalidor's Insights a little more insightful, by providing permanent boons for completing this quest. There are 8 new rewards, 1 for each school of magic and 3 that transcend the schools and affect all of your magical abilities. After completing this quest 8 times and gaining all 8 boons, you will finally be able to get those useless scrolls as rewards once again.

The boons you can receive are decided at random, but you won't get one that you already have. The boons will show up in your active effects, same as abilities such as Sailor's Repose or Sinderion's Serendipity - I always loved these kinds of bonuses for completing quests - I hope you find these boons are fair and balanced, but provide a good bonus for aspiring mages and an actual reason to complete this repeating radiant quest.

• []Conjuration skill increases 10% faster

  • []Spells from all schools of magic have 10% greater magnitude

  Shalidors Insights: Longevity
  • []Spells from all schools of magic have 10% longer duration

  Shalidors Insights: Simplicity
  • []Spells from all schools of magic cost 10% less magicka to cast

    Compatability:

    • This mod only edits 1 hidden quest, "MGR22", which determines the reward for completing the quest "Shalidors Insights", and should be compatible with just about anything. If you do have a conflict, just load this mod later and you should still get these rewards. I couldn't find any mods on the Nexus related to this quest, but if you do, let me know and I can update this section.
