📋 About This Mod

I am just greatful to Jesus for all the help ❤️,

Also want to thanks all the QTR Team which are Thiago, Raven and Quantum who helped me A LOT ,

And all the others modders and friends that I met along the way!

But specially Veezcaa (which made the shot from the cape btw)!

and Ershin for Precision code!

Input Manager

It is an Asynchronous State Machine( i never knew that was called that 🫠 )

It not only sees which button was pressed, but timing and context (Single tap, Multiple taps, Hold, Gestures, Combos)

and pass the correct input.

TLDR: We have to many mods and not that many inputs.

So the input that you want and the mods that use Input Manager gonna listen when that happen.

If you want to trigger a special attack when Hold x + Mouse 1, or Gamepad X/A + RT/R2, or even a fighting game motion sequence (Combo) or drawing a Gesture on screen, it can do that.

Its also compatible out of the box with Typing Mode

so mods that use input manager work with typing out of box

God bless ❤️

Best Practices For Player

YOU PLAYER REALLY SHOULD READ THIS 🫠

The Delay Rule:

If you have an action with a Tap Count of 1 and another with a Tap Count of 2 (or more) configured on the same key,

you MUST enable the "Delay" (Wait for additional Taps) box on the Single Tap action.

This creates a "Ghost Thread" that waits a few milliseconds to make sure you are not going to press the key a second time.

TLDR: ALWAYS ENABLE DELAY IF YOU WANT TO USE A KEY ALONE AS SINGLE TAP (ex.: Shift to dodge)

Not needed on 1. 1. 0 🫠

Short Time Windows:

In action games, configure the Tap Window in the slider to values between

0. 20s and 0. 30s. Values higher than this will make the game feel sluggish (Input Lag).

Best Practices For Modders

YOU MOD AUTHOR REALLY SHOULD READ THIS 🫠

The Design Philosophy (Modder and User)

To understand the true power of the Input Manager, it is essential to realize

how the responsibility is divided between the Mod Authors and the Player.

The main paradigm is: The Modder DOES NOT register keys.

The Modder registers an Input ID (Action or Motion), and the User decides how that action is triggered.

Practical Example:

A Dodge Mod

💡 Beginner Tips

  • If you're a mod author, check if other popular mods already use Input Manager to see examples of integration.
  • Test your mod's input handling in a controlled environment to avoid conflicts with other listeners.
  • Since this is a resource, ensure your mod's users know they need to install Input Manager as a dependency.
