Improved Wall Baskets - Meshes and Textures

This started off as a texture replacement for wall baskets and evolved into both a mesh and texture replacement. The final product is a result of combining some new resources with the vanilla resources and also using some freely shared assets from other mod authors (details in credits).

Texture changes

• []The original texture was AI up-scaled from 512x512 to 2048x2048. The up-scaled texture looked better, but it still wasn't good.

  []I did some work on the texture by hand to make it look like the rope-like portions were made of thread and the wicker portion got a whole new texture. The lighter part of the rope-like portion was made to be more white too, which gives the texture more contrast.

  []I also AI up-scaled the feather and wood trim detail that some of the baskets use. They were still pretty awful, so I trashed them. I made a new wood trim texture and decided to tweak the textures for the SMIM feathers instead of trying to save the vanilla ones.

  Mesh Changes

  • []Some of the meshes used in this mod come from Pieter82's Higher Poly Vanilla Wall Baskets which was shared with open permissions. These are higher poly than the vanilla meshes, but still very modest.

    []All meshes have had UV modifications done to them to prevent the rope texture from appearing in some of the wicker areas of the mesh

    []The texture paths for most of the textures has been changed to prevent inadvertently changing the texture for models that may use the same textures

    []The meshes with wood trim have had the trim moved back to make the wood trim look like it is woven into the rope part of the texture instead of being hot glued to the front of the wall basket.

    Installation

    • []Download the FOMOD. It contains all texture and mesh options

      []Includes options to keep the SMIM feather textures if you prefer the SMIM version of the texture or want to use the textures from another mod like Rally's Ink and Feather. If you do not have a compatible SMIM feather textures, the feather meshes will appear purple with no details.

      Compatibility

      • []Not compatible with other mods that replace the vanilla wall basket textures

        []The textures from this mod will not work with vanilla mesh replacement because the file path to the textures has been changed

        []Patches are included to keep SMIM feather texture and for Dynamic Things Alternative (standard and Base Object Swapper versions)
