OVERVIEW
These are my personal tweaks to the wonderful Immersive Diseases 2. 0 by HanShotFirst, specifically the NPC module. I've changed the percent chance of various types of NPC's to contract diseases, making them a bit less intrusive in some cases (there are a LOT of Bandits in Skyrim, for example, & a 25% chance of them having Bone Break Fever would be seen constantly), & a bit more immersive and modular overall (Beggars living in squalor no longer have the same chance to contract Ataxia as a Fishery Worker, for example)
Here are the specific changes:
ATAXIA
- Fishery Workers, Thieves, and Drunks reduced from 15% to 10%
- Beggars increased from 15% to 20%
BONE BREAK FEVER
- Hunters reduced from 25% to 20%
- Bandits reduced from 25% to 5%
BRAIN ROT
- Necromancers and Forsworn reduced from 15% to 10%
- Thieves reduced from 15% to 5%
RATTLES
- Miners reduced from 20% to 10%
- Falmer Servants increased from 20% to 50%
- Beggars remain at 20%
ROCKJOINT
- Farmers reduced from 15% to 10%
- Bandits reduced from 15% to 5%
- Hunters increased from 15% to 20%
WITBANE
- Necromancers and Skooma Dealers reduced from 20% to 10%
- Thieves reduced from 20% to 5%

This mod tweaks the NPC disease contraction chances from Immersive Diseases 2.0, making them less intrusive for common enemies like bandits and more immersive for specific NPC types. It adjusts percentages for diseases like Ataxia, Bone Break Fever, and others, with changes like bandits' Bone Break Fever dropping from 25% to 5% and Falmer Servants' Rattles increasing to 50%. A niche balance patch for players who find the original too frequent.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-trusted tweak with 157 endorsements and over 8k downloads
- Makes disease encounters less annoying—bandits won't constantly have Bone Break Fever
- Adds logical variety: beggars get sick more, fishery workers less
⚠️ Cons
- Requires Immersive Diseases 2.0 as a base mod, so you need that installed first
- Only tweaks NPC module—doesn't change other aspects of the disease system
- Compatibility risk with other mods that alter NPC disease chances or actor records
For Skyrim players who use Immersive Diseases and find the default NPC infection rates too high or unrealistic. If you want a more balanced, roleplay-friendly disease experience without overhauling the whole system, this is for you. Skip if you don't use Immersive Diseases or prefer the original rates.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have Immersive Diseases 2.0 installed first, then drop this mod's files into your mod manager and activate it after the base mod.
- Load this mod after Immersive Diseases in your load order to ensure the tweaks apply correctly.
- If you use other mods that alter NPC stats or disease chances, test in-game to see if they conflict—this mod edits NPC records directly.
