📋 About This Mod

Recently I made a similar mod for Fallout 4 and while the problem is bigger in FO4, I thought Skyrim could use it as well.

This mod is for people who enjoy the Skyrim style of conversations, but are tired of NPCs walking away from them during a conversation.

How this mod works is, when the script detects you are talking to an NPC, it tells the NPC to stop and think about what it should be doing. (Usually it's to stop and talk to you) As a safety net, it also tells the NPC to stay near you while the NPC is talking to you. If this mod is working correctly, you'll forget you even have it installed.

It's highly compatible, it should work with every mod. It works with AE and SE as well. That being said, if you find an NPC that reacts poorly to this mod, let me know in the posts.

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

This mod stops NPCs from walking away during conversations, a common annoyance in Skyrim. It's highly compatible with both Special Edition and Anniversary Edition, and the ESP is flagged as ESL to save load order slots. With over 1,300 endorsements and 388k downloads, it's a proven fix for a frustrating issue.

✨ Key Features

Prevents NPCs from walking away while you're talking to them
Compatible with Skyrim Special Edition and Anniversary Edition
ESP file flagged as ESL, so it won't count against your load order limit
Lightweight and highly compatible with other mods

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Community-approved with 1,392 endorsements and 388k downloads
  • ESL-flagged so it doesn't eat a load order slot
  • Works for both SE and AE players

⚠️ Cons

  • Last updated in 2022 — might not be tested with the latest Skyrim patches
  • Could conflict with mods that alter NPC AI packages
🎯 Is This For You?
For Skyrim players who are tired of NPCs wandering off mid-conversation, especially when trying to complete quests or trade. If you're on SE or AE and want a simple, lightweight fix, this is for you. Skip if you're on the old Legendary Edition or if you use mods that heavily overhaul NPC behavior.
📦 Install:Easy· Under 1 minute

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Since it's ESL-flagged, you can place it anywhere in your load order, but putting it near the bottom helps ensure it overrides other AI tweaks.
  • If you use a mod manager like Vortex or MO2, just download and enable — no FOMOD or patches needed.
  • Check for updates if you're on the latest Skyrim version, as the mod hasn't been updated since 2022.
