ICFur's Tundra Scrubs Version 2

This is a mesh and texture replacement for all three versions of Tundra Scrubs. If you are not sure what a tundra scrub is, they are fairly common in the city of Whiterun and there are quite a few spread around the tundra as well. I have included a before picture to help you ID the plant as well.

The textures for this mod were created from images I took of a confederate jasmine (I think the shape of the leaves for this plant resemble the shape of the leaves on the vanilla texture). The meshes are repurposed and modified version of the reach fern mesh. Modifications include reducing the height of the leaves (my texture is a little more sparse than the original reach fern texture, so I decreased the gap between layers), flipping some normals that were faced the wrong way, and making the outline of the mesh match the tundra scrub mesh more closely.

• []Textures are available in 1k, 2k, and 4k (all normals are in 1k to save a bit of VRAM)

  []Meshes and textures for Shrubs of Snow are included in the main file. If you don't use Shrubs of Snow, you can remove all of the files with "Snow" in the name or leave the files there (they won't cause any harm, they just won't be used by the game).

  Installation

  • []Download your desired texture size (meshes are included with all texture options)

    []Install with your mod manager of choice

    []If you use Shrubs of Snow and Seasons of Skyrim, the required meshes and textures are included in the main files. Make sure the Shrubs of Snow meshes from this mod overwrite the ones from Shrubs of Snow.

    Performance

    • []These are not high poly meshes. The largest meshes have 500 triangles, so performance should be similar to vanilla.

    • Keep your VRAM limitations in mind when choosing texture sizes. The vanilla texture is 1k, so if you have limited VRAM stick to that version. Users with a bit of headroom can use the 2k version. If you have lots of VRAM and enjoy putting your character's nose up against the scrubs, then 4k is the way to go.

      Permissions

      I am sharing this mod with open permissions all you have to do is credit me. All of the textures were created by me and do not require any

      licensing. The meshes were created by modifying the vanilla meshes for reach ferns so they are also free to use in mods as long as the mod is not being sold.

      This mod may be ported to other versions of Skryim including consoles, all you have to do is credit me.
