Hydra (Creature Series pt.2) SE



Hydra are ancient creatures that existed long before the Merethic Era. They were known to inhabit the forests of Valenwood prior to the Aldmer's arrival to the providence. However, some have adapted to life at sea and spread their range all throughout Tamriel including the Sea of Ghosts and Solstheim. They make up a portion of tales told by sailors about various sea monsters that inhabit the seas and oceans.

They are extremely venomous, even the very air/water around them is deadly, and they use this to take down large prey like whales, giant squid, large sharks and fish, and other large creatures that might inhabit the oceans.

Their multiple heads are also useful as they also serve as arms.

They have the strongest regenerative abilities known to Nirn and heal back from the brink of death in less than a few minutes. However, this does not mean they can regrow head appendages that quickly. Regrowing heads and having them stay attached still takes a while to do. What they can do though Is regrow heads instantaneously, but detach themselves and wander around so they can act as sentries to protect the hydra if the Hydra's original heads were cut off and the hydra itself is in critical condition, unable to protect itself.

Even though their range is widespread they have some of the slowest reproductive rates among Nirns creatures

which is the reason why there are so few of them. However, they live for a very long time, usually living much longer than ordinary mer.

- Highly poisonous, gearing/prepping for poison resistance is highly recommended.
