📋 About This Mod
Supported: Alchemy, OneHanded, TwoHanded, Marksman, Block, Smithing, HeavyArmor, LightArmor, PickPocket, Lockpicking, Sneak, Speechcraft, Alteration, Conjuration, Destruction, Illusion, Restoration, Enchanting.
In addition to flat skill buff, there are two basic ways to reinforce skills, which may be limited by this mod:
- 1. Modifier - changed by perks and fortify skill enchantments
2. Power Modifier - changed by fortify skill potions. The effect is usually the same as increasing the skill level of the associated skill, except for the magic schools: Alteration - duration, Conjuration - duration, Destruction - magnitude, Illusion - magnitude, Restoration - magnitude.
Supported: Damage Resist, Poison Resist, Resist Disease, Resist Fire, Resist Frost, Resist Magic, Resist Shock, Reflect Damage.
By default, all limiters are enabled and set to 70.
When the limiter is active and reduces something, you can see it on Active Effects tab:
Simply activating a limiter does not cause it to show up in the Active Effects tab. Only limiters that reduce the current value are visible, so the current value must be greater than the limit for the limiter to take effect and show up.
Limits are applied automatically, so there is no conflict with mods such as Summermyst or Thaumaturgy that modify perks that use skill modifiers. For mods that remove modifiers completely, such as Better Spell Cost Stacking, a patch is needed (patch for BSCS in optional files section).
This mod has a built-in loader, so saving and loading settings is automatic.
Saved settings location: "MCM\Settings\Human Limits.ini".

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Tiny footprint with ESPFE, so it won't eat your plugin slots.
- Customizable menu means you can tune the limits to your exact taste.
- Solid download count (20k) shows people are actually using it.
⚠️ Cons
- Only 53 endorsements, so it's not a community favorite—might be niche.
- Last updated in May 2023, so it might not be fully compatible with the latest game patches.
- Could conflict with other mods that alter the same buff systems, so test carefully.
For Skyrim players who are tired of becoming godlike from stacking buffs across multiple mods and want a simple way to rein it in. Also great for mod authors who want to balance their own setups. Skip if you don't stack buffs or prefer a more hardcore overhaul.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's ESPFE, you can safely add it mid-playthrough, but always back up your save before installing any mod.
- Open the in-game MCM (Mod Configuration Menu) to adjust the limits to your liking—defaults might be too strict or too loose.
- If you use a mod manager like Vortex or MO2, just drop the file in and enable it; no extra patches needed.
