📋 About This Mod

Old Skyrim version here

This is an overhaul of the "vampire cattle" NPCs in Castle Volkihar, who you will meet during Dawnguard.

The tone of this mod is decidedly dark, and leans heavily into the evil of the vampires.

If you side with the Dawnguard, this should give you more motivation to defeat the evil vampires.

If you side with the vampires it lets you revel in the evil a little bit. I won't judge.

Despite the jokey title, this isn't meant to be a sexy mod, it's meant to be a horror mod.

Features:

First the mod adds more human cattle to the castle; 25 total NPCs.

They are now all unique instead of randomly spawned, so no more duplicate faces.

Weird human-shaped activators in the dining hall have been replaced by actual NPC's.

The vampires have removed all their prisoners' clothing for easy-access snacking.

The vampires have also cut off their prisoners' hair, because nobody likes hair in their food.

Most have their bodies smeared with blood due to their unfortunate lifestyle.

Male and female prisoners downstairs have been separated into different cages.

Tons of idle markers for sandboxing have been added to the cages.

Compatibility:

These are technically all new characters. The original NPC's were carefully removed, so there is no compatibility issue with other NPC replacers.

These NPC's just use whatever bodies and skin textures you have installed, so it's compatible with all body mods.

If you don't use body mods, they'll just be in their underwear.

This should be compatible with almost any other mod that affects Castle Volkihar.

Vampire Cattle should still go away (presumably set free) if you side with the Dawnguard and kill the vampires.

No high-poly heads or fancy hair on these characters so they should be relatively performance-friendly.

ESL flagged.

VH1 Behind The Mod:

This was inspired by a playthrough of Dawnguard where I went to the vampires' basement and found the game had randomly spawned all the same male NPC in one cage and all the same female NPC in the other. I thought, on one hand this is a problem, and it wouldn't be hard to make them unique NPC's instead. But on the other hand it makes a certain kind of sense that the vampires would separate the men and women. The one male NPC that spawned had a shaved head, and I thought that made sense too. The vampires would probably cut off these people's hair if they're literally just food to them, it would only be in their way. And on that note they would probably take away their clothes too. It's not as if they care about thes

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Community-approved with 314 endorsements and over 24k downloads
  • ESL flagged means it won't eat your mod slots
  • Gives those poor cattle a much-needed glow-up

⚠️ Cons

  • Purely cosmetic – no gameplay changes to the cattle or vampires
  • May conflict with other mods that alter Volkihar NPCs or the Dawnguard questline
  • Limited scope – only affects the cattle, not other Dawnguard NPCs
🎯 Is This For You?
For Skyrim players who want to make the Volkihar cattle look less like generic prisoners and more like actual characters. If you're doing a Dawnguard playthrough and want a visual upgrade for these NPCs, this is for you. Skip if you're looking for gameplay changes or if you don't care about the appearance of background NPCs.
