📋 About This Mod
In the process of moving my modlist to SE, I found out that HDT Tails Wearable didn't have an SE version. Not wanting to play SE without it, I decided to convert the entire mod myself. After 3 months of learning from scratch and 3 weeks of waiting for permission, I am finally able to share it!
The Mod adds Plenty of HDT-SMP tails & ears to the game.
They are all Craftable on the Forge, however I recommend using AddItemMenu to obtain them much easier.
Thanks to Treota's adjustments, the fox5Tails have now been included in the main file.
A few notes:
- 3 tails were unable to be converted, because SE didn't like the mesh for some reason. These tails are the MateraBlackT (Black tail with white tip), the Khajiit tail, and the Nekomata tail. They are not included in the mod.
- Some tails have a "jittering" effect, however it is least noticeable with the MateraTail. Personally, I only notice the jitter when I am both trying to see it and standing still.
- If the tail is moving too fast, sometimes it can clip through the leg. Potential fix could be to increase the "numiterations" value in configs.xml, however that increases the performance cost.
Demonstration of physics:
- HDT-SMP (Skinned Mesh Physics)
- The XPMSSE Skeleton
Make sure to install their respective requirements as well.
Recommended mods:
- AddItemMenu SE, allows you to easily get the tails without crafting them.
- SliderEarsTailsHorns on the LL site, allows you to equip certain tails & ears via Racemenu. Good for a preset, or if you don't want them to be unequipped when going to jail. The mod was made for the LE version but from what I've tested, it's compatible. Also note: for some reason collisions don't work when equipping the tails via racemenu
You should be using a mod manager, but if you have to do it manually:
1. Extract the contents of the .zip file.
2. Drag the "Data" folder into your Skyrim root directory.
If you're installing one of the hair fix options, follow the same steps above and make sure to replace the main file when prompted.
The root directory can by found by right-clicking on Skyrim in your Steam Library, clicking "Manage", then clicking "Browse Local Files
This is a Skyrim Special Edition conversion of the popular HDT Tails Wearable mod, adding equippable tails and ears with HDT-SMP physics. It's a niche cosmetic mod for players who want animated animal appendages, with 834 endorsements and frequent updates as of May 2023.
