Find him at dawnstar mine, can be bought for 350 septims from Lond
Dismiss, then uninstall
I would be safe and take all equipment off Harold then dismiss him, he will go back to were you bought him
Then Update
Then this is optional, drop the ownership note and buy him again from Lond, this will apply an invisible ability to you and therefore the note is no longer necessary for Harold to follow you.
Dialogue was meant to be for testing but now i can't get into the quest dialogue menu without crashing so yeah
