Hair Suppression Fix

Description

Fix for many wigs and presumably some other modded headgear items. Some items didn't suppress the entirety of a character's hair when they should have due to a Skyrim bug, but this fixes that for the player and all NPCs.

Installation instructions

Install with your favourite mod manager and choose the appropriate option in the FOMOD installer.

Details

Some wigs (notably, the ones in HDT-SMP Physics Racemenu Hairs and Wigs) are set up with a separate hair model and collision body taking up two different armor slots (31 and 41). Skyrim only looks at the first of these two records when suppressing hair, so it only hides part of the hair mesh. The rest of the hair remains visible as it's supposed to with certain equipment like the vanilla Hide Helmet (which doesn't take up slot 41), where some hair can be seen underneath. The author hasn't done anything wrong here - there are a lot of advantages to separating the collision body from the hair model - the problem is that Skyrim isn't hiding all of the hair that it should be hiding. This SKSE plugin hides the whole hair model when slots 31 and 41 are occupied, even if the two models are split up.

This is based on Beard Mask Fix by Parapets and the 1. 5. 97 patch by Fuzzlesz. This mod uses the same hook as Beard Mask Fix, so this mod unfortunately overwrites the code in the Beard Mask Fix DLL. As such, its changes are optionally included in this mod (option in FOMOD installer). That means characters' beards will be hidden when equipment slot 44 is occupied if you choose to include these changes when installing. I still recommend downloading Beard Mask Fix's esp file to get slot 44 applied to vanilla masked items if you choose this option. You can safely delete SKSE\Plugins\BeardMaskFix.dll, but nothing will break if you leave BeardMaskFix.dll there. There's no need to install Beard Mask Fix for Skyrim 1. 5, but it's still a good idea to download and endorse it to support Fuzzlesz!
