📋 About This Mod

I made some edits to Gunslicer's sneak animations. Because Skyrim's simplistic skeleton rig is not very good, the original animation's neck shape is very screwed up. See comparison photo.

In light of this, I adjusted the neck position. I made adjustments to the spine as well since I thought the original animation's spine/back was too flat, this also helped with the neck position, overall I think it looks less unnatural.

I only adjusted sneakmtidle, sneakrun_forward, and sneakwalk_forward since I use true directional movement and the other animations don't get called. If you don't use true directional movement you will get the original animations when you move in other directions.

The animations are in OAR format, which means you will need it for this to work. The trigger conditions are female player character with weapons sheathed.

I also threw in an alternate squat idle that I made that will be randomly chosen alongside Gunslicer's idle, you can delete the sneakmtidle2.hkx file if you don't like it.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Community favorite with 563 endorsements and over 23k downloads
  • Tweaks the original to look more natural, which is a solid improvement
  • OAR format means easy integration with modern mod setups

⚠️ Cons

  • Requires OAR, so if you're not using it, this won't work
  • Only covers sneak animations—don't expect changes to other movement
  • Compatibility with other animation overhauls could be a concern if they also modify sneak
🎯 Is This For You?
For Skyrim players who use OAR and want a more natural sneak animation without overhauling everything. If you're a purist who likes the original Gunslicer animations, this might not be for you. Skip if you don't use OAR or want broader animation changes.
📦 Install:Easy· Under 1 minute

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Make sure OAR is installed and up to date before adding this mod.
  • Use a mod manager to install, and check that the file structure matches OAR's expected folder layout.
  • If you have other sneak animation mods, load this one after them to ensure it takes priority.
