📋 About This Mod

Summary

This mod allows you to make your carryable light sources from any mod require fuel to function.

It keeps track of the fuel usage, i.e. turning it off won't result in a reset on the duration.

Upon depletion, the fuel will be automatically added to your light source to refuel it, if you have the necessary fuel item in your inventory. Otherwise, your light will be unequipped.

What you need to do

Set the light sources, their respective fuel, and durations via ini file. How to do that?

You need to put the EditorIDs and/or FormIDs of the items you want to use as light sources and fuels in the ini file. That's it!

  • []To be able to use EditorIDs, you have to have po3's Tweaks installed. Otherwise, you need to use FormIDs.

[]You can still use EditorIDs together with FormIDs, if you have po3's Tweaks.

[]The durations are given in in-game hours. If you do not provide a duration for a source, it will be set to 8 in-game hours.

[]Yes, you can assign different fuel items to different light sources.

[](0. 4a) You can assign different fuel items to the same light sources.

[]Quick Light is supported. You need po3's Tweaks for this feature.

Important!

The keys in the INI for each source must be unique to that source.

(In this context, a key is what is written on the left-hand side of each equality, i.e. source1 in source1 = Candlelantern01)

Use the same key for the fuel and duration of the same source to match everything with each other. See Examples section below.

How to find Form/Editor IDs

You can use zEdit, xEdit, or the console command help.

An example in xEdit is shown in the Images section.

Examples - An example ini configuration for Simple Wearable Lanterns can be found in the Images section.

- Another example ini file can be found under the miscellaneous downloads section. It includes

Simple Wearable Lanterns

Everlight - Torches of Skyrim SE

Usable Lantern SE Tweaked

Kagrenac's Wisps

Eld Beri - Yet Another Wearable Lantern Mod (With ENB Light)

Wearable Lights - Radiance Stones

Installation/Uninstallation/Update

Safe to install/uninstall/update whenever.

No Esp no scripts. Just SKSE plugin. So you need to have SKSE installed.

🎯 Is This For You?
For Skyrim players who want survival-style mechanics on their wearable lights, especially those using mods like Simple Wearable Lanterns. If you enjoy tweaking configs and want deeper immersion, this is for you. Skip if you prefer simple plug-and-play mods without setup.
