📋 About This Mod
Frankly HD - PBR Remaster
"The classic retextures, remastered and finally released as designed, in PBR."
Hand-crafted textures made from scratch for PBR (Physically Based Rendering) shaders at a mix of 4k and 2k resolutions.
Community Shaders and PGPatcher are absolutely required. It is not compatible with ENB.
A weather mod made for CS is highly recommended, I use NAT. CS III in the screenshots.
Offered in the most simple and compatible way possible, no meshes, no mess, no optionals, no incompatibility.
Just install and run PGPatcher (more details below).
The textures are shipped inside a compressed archive.
The included plugin is only to load the bsa and it must be activated in your mod manager.
-- Content --
Dawnguard armor (all variants), the OG crossbow, steel bolt, waraxe, warhammer, and their rune uniques.
Dragonbone and dragonscale armors, dragonbone weapons and Jagged Crown.
Imperial armor sets (including Tullius and Carius), sword, bow and Champion's Cudgel.
Nightingale armor, blade and bow.
Shrouded armor.
Thieves Guild armor in all variants (Guild master, Linwe and Karliah).
Blades armor, shield and sword.
-- Instructions --
1) Install the mod in your mod manager and activate the included plugin (so the archive will load).
2) Run PGPatcher (Make sure to enable True PBR (CS Only) under Shader Patchers).
3 ) Install the generated output as a mod in your mod manager.
4 ) Ensure that output is the last thing in your load order and wins any conflict.

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solid community backing with 480 endorsements and over 68k downloads
- High-res 4K PBR textures give a noticeable visual upgrade for popular armor sets
- Recently updated (August 2025), so it's likely compatible with current Skyrim versions
⚠️ Cons
- Only covers seven armor sets—if you want more variety, you'll need other mods
- 4K textures can hit performance on lower-end rigs, especially with multiple sets on screen
- PBR support may require specific setup or ENB, so check compatibility with your visual mods
For Skyrim players who want high-fidelity, realistic armor and weapon textures without overhauling the whole game. If you're into visual fidelity and have the hardware to run 4K, this is a solid pick. Skip if you're on a potato PC or prefer a more stylized look.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Use a mod manager like Vortex or MO2 to install and manage the textures easily.
- If you're using an ENB, make sure it supports PBR textures to get the full effect.
- Check your VRAM usage—4K textures can be heavy, so monitor performance in dense areas like cities.
