📋 About This Mod
Description
The original name for this mod was going to be "OMG Not Another Cute Elf Race" but I decided they deserve a little more backstory and so here you have it. This mod adds three races based loosely on Celtic mythology and the various Faerie Courts. The reason for me finally making a custom race of my own was two fold. Firstly, I had been playing Skyrim with Raeza and Maxine for a long time and absolutely loved the two mods, to the point where I had converted the textures to CBBE so I could use them with other custom races to give Raeza and Maxine a matching friend (or parent). And secondly, I just wanted to see if I could do it. I don't claim to be doing anything new here and none of the assets in this mod are my own but after all the work that went into it I wanted to share it with the community.
Be aware that this was going to be a female only race at first but I challenged myself to go all the way. The major problem I ran into was finding a suitable head mesh with elf ears that matched the female head I am using. Not wanting to have players rely on RaceMenu presets I went with the ears from Epic Elves. They don't look as elf'ish as the female ears and you may notice that the quality of the male Mahr textures are clearly not the same as the female of the same race, the reason for this being that Maxine's author really painted a masterpiece when he made her and my artistic ability is limited to copying and pasting in PS.
Keep in mind as you play with this mod that what might seem like a bug may not be a bug. For instance, when you first notice the cute little elf ears sticking out of the sides of your female characters helmet remember this is a cosmetic race, or at least I intended it to be. Why would anyone want to cover up those adorable little ears? Then, if you haven't done so yet, go and download Invisible Helmets for Player or a similar invisible helmet mod, or better yet use a circlet (JS Armored Circlets) for your head gear. I will add a (not so) short FAQ near the bottom of this page, before posting any bug reports, please read over it.
