📋 About This Mod
This is a vanilla torch mesh which is needed for anyone using ENB Light version 0. 98 Alpha 2.
The ENB Light 0. 98 Alpha 2 FOMOD installer includes this mesh, however, the file path is incorrect (see images). This results in using the default vanilla mesh which does not have any ENB particle light emitters. This means that while the default torch mesh will still cast light on the ground and other terrain (rocks/trees), it will not cast light on other meshes or objects. See before and after images for reference. The included mesh fixes these issues, which some users may not have even noticed to this point. Your game may look slightly different depending on your ENB settings.
Full credit to @4109 as again this file was included in his FOMOD but had incorrect path. Please be sure to give +kudos to this user.
INSTALLATION
Install with preferred mod manager and overwrite all files from base ENB Light install for any conflicts. Per ENB Light install instructions, be sure to also overwrite Smoking Torches and Candles (STAC) meshes as well if you use that mod (smoke will still emit from the torch).
COMPATIBILITY
This should be compatible with anything that uses vanilla torch mesh. If you are using another torch mod, check elsewhere for a patch as this does not cover that. If you are NOT using ENB Light version 0. 98 Alpha 2, this file is NOT NEEDED as other base versions of ENB Light (0. 94 and 0. 95 RC2) already include this and the pathing is correct.
Special thanks to @4109 for creation of this AMAZING mod.
This is a small fix mod for Skyrim that corrects the file path of the vanilla torch mesh included in ENB Light 0.98 Alpha 2, ensuring torches cast ENB particle light on objects. It's specifically for users of that ENB Light version and requires overwriting the base install. With 391 endorsements and 8,316 downloads, it's a niche but essential patch for visual consistency.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Essential fix for ENB Light 0.98 Alpha 2 users—torches finally light up objects properly
- Simple drop-in install with mod manager, no complex setup
- Community-approved (391 endorsements) and widely downloaded (8,316)
⚠️ Cons
- Only needed for ENB Light 0.98 Alpha 2—if you're on 0.94 or 0.95 RC2, this is useless
- Doesn't cover other torch mods; you'll need to find patches elsewhere
- Potential conflict if you use a different torch mesh mod—check compatibility first
For Skyrim players using ENB Light 0.98 Alpha 2 who want torches to cast light on objects, not just the ground. If you're on an older ENB Light version or don't use ENB Light, skip this—it's not needed. Also for modders who want to fix the pathing issue in the FOMOD.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Use a mod manager like Vortex or MO2 to install and let it overwrite the base ENB Light files
- If you use Smoking Torches and Candles (STAC), make sure to overwrite its meshes too, as per the instructions
- Check your ENB Light version in the mod manager—if it's not 0.98 Alpha 2, this fix isn't for you
