📋 About This Mod
Dragon Claws Auto-Unlock - Download & Endorse
Dragon Claws Auto-Unlock is a very nice quality of life mod for those of us that have been around the Skyrim block a few times and don't want to constantly have to "solve" the dragon claw puzzle doors. The only puzzle door I ever remember off the top of my head is Bleak Falls Barrow; and the rest? Nope.
As long as you have the appropriate claw in your inventory, it will unlock the door just by activating the keyhole.
Ashen, the original author of DCAU, has kindly provided a new script based patcher. I haven't had a chance to test it fully yet so this mod will be in beta for a short time. If you downloaded the individual plugins prior to this - then I recommend switching to this method instead, as it's far more efficient.
So far the script covers the following mods:
-
[]Legacy of the Dragonborn (confirmed as working)
[
]Wyrmstooth[]Konahrik's Accoutrements
[]Skyrim Sewers
If you know of any other mods which add new dragon claws and puzzle doors, let me know and I will endeavour to add it to the list.

With 596 endorsements and 253,912 downloads, it's a proven utility for mod users. Last updated in August 2022, it remains a go-to tool for integrating custom claws with the auto-unlock system.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Massive download count (253k+) shows it's a trusted tool in the community.
- Solves a real compatibility headache—custom claws not working with auto-unlock is annoying.
- Script-based means it's likely a one-click fix, no manual patching needed.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2022—might not support the latest mods or game patches.
- Requires you to run a patcher, which adds an extra step compared to simple mods.
- Only useful if you actually use mods that add custom dragon claws—niche audience.
For Skyrim modders who use custom dragon claw mods and want them to work with the Auto-Unlock feature. If you're tired of manually unlocking doors or want seamless integration, this is for you. Skip if you don't use custom claws or don't care about auto-unlock.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure to run the patcher after installing any new dragon claw mods to ensure they're included.
- Check the mod's forum posts for compatibility notes with popular claw mods.
- If you're using a mod manager, follow the author's instructions for load order—patchers often need to be run after all mods are installed.
