📋 About This Mod
NOTE:
The fixes for Root01, Root02, and Root03 are already included in USSEP as of 4. 3. 0 (root04 is not because it's not used in vanilla).
The meshes dlc02TelvanniRoot01, dlc02TelvanniRoot02, dlc02TelvanniRoot03, and dlc02TelvanniRoot04 (this one is actually not used in the vanilla game ,but the other three are) have incredibly simplistic and inaccurate collision, which causes problems for mods that attempt to use these meshes for climbing or platforming purposes.
Additionally, Bethesda accidentally assigned these meshes the "broken stone" material type, meaning they make the wrong noises when walked on or hit with a weapon.
This mod was originally created to fix the platforming in the Brass Forest section of The Wheels of Lull, but I figured anyone could benefit from using it.
Yuril kindly trained me in how to fix collisions on meshes, and these four are the result (see the screenshots for before/after images).
Compatibility
Allow this mod to override Unofficial Materials Fix.
The meshes in this mod are identical to those in Wheels of Lull's optional TelvanniRoot fixes file (added in 5. 1. 12), so no need to install this if you have that.
This bug fix mod corrects bad collisions, incorrect havok materials, and wrong tangent spaces on the four dlc02TelvanniRoot meshes in Skyrim's Dragonborn DLC. It's a targeted fix for players experiencing physics or collision issues with Telvanni roots, with 601 endorsements and recent updates.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 601 endorsements and over 167k downloads.
- Targets specific mesh issues that can cause visual or physics glitches.
- Lightweight fix that doesn't overhaul anything else.
⚠️ Cons
- Only affects four specific meshes, so if you don't use those, it's useless.
- No compatibility notes, so it might conflict with other mesh mods.
- Requires manual installation, which might be tricky for modding newbies.
For Skyrim players who've noticed weird collisions or physics on Telvanni roots in the Dragonborn DLC. If you're a modder or perfectionist who wants to fix those glitches, this is for you. Skip if you don't care about mesh-level bugs or use a comprehensive mesh overhaul.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have the Dragonborn DLC installed, as these meshes are from that DLC.
- If you use a mod manager, you can install this manually by dropping the files into your Data folder, but a mod manager is safer.
- Check if you have other mesh mods that might overwrite these files; load order matters.
