📋 About This Mod
Hey everyone!
Well, here it is... my 100th mod! I know that qIpdIb will be pleased about this :D! After months of tinkering and finally having to stop myself from adding anything else, I'm finally releasing my Hunter Camps overhaul. Here's what it does:
Adds appropriate hunter blinds and lean-tos to camps, meaning you'll see less generic tents.
Adds appropriate loot to hunter camps: eggs and salt for tanning. Pelts, antlers, and hunted meats can also be found in camps.
Feels more alive than a static overhaul. Each time you load your save, the loot, catches, equipment, and even tents will change, making the camps feel more alive and realistic.
Adds diverse and region-specific catches to hunters' racks in camps.
Adds workstations: Fletching, unique tanning racks. Alchemy coming soon.
New assets: covered benches, rabbit hides, hunter's frame packs.
Hunter's frame packs (see the gallery) replace out-of-place bags and satchels.
Fletching and tanning stations.
Create hunter arrows and use the tanning racks found in hunter camps. You can also catch fish from the fishing traps that fishermen have placed in Lake Ilinalta.
Appropriate loot and furnishings in Hunter Camps
Find pelts on tanning racks, area-appropriate catches, and furnishings in hunter camps.
Sleep under the stars in blinds and lean-tos.
Find realistic hunter blinds and lean-tos in camps.
Hunter's Rest overhaul.
Central to the mod is a makeover of Hunter's Rest. The makeover adds tanning racks, pelts, trophies, fletching, and lots more quality-of_ life improvements to this previously overlooked location. Oh, and I fixed the roof too! The Hunter's Rest overhaul is included as a separate .esp (ESL flagged, as is the main mod) in case you already have an overhaul of Hunter's Rest installed.
Fluffy pelts.
Campfire integration
Using the (upcoming) Optional file, Chesko's Campfire mod will use assets from Diverse Hunter Camps for continuity across mods.
What the mod doesn't do: It doesn't make large changes to the layout of camps, and so it maintains compatibility. The mod is not compatible with other hunter camp overhauls.
A few Q and A's...
Q: Why can't I craft arrows at the Fletching Stations?
A: You need to have the correct ingredients. And, if you want to craft the more powerful black arrows, you'll need the Steel smithing perk.
Q: Is the mod ESL flagged?
A: Yep, all parts of the mod are.
Q: Can't you make this mod with Model Swapper?
A: Unfortunately, Model Swapper (while it is awesome) doesn't have all the functionality I needed to make the overhaul.
Q: Why didn't

📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 472 endorsements and over 15k downloads.
- Fresh take on a neglected part of Skyrim's world—hunter camps feel alive now.
- Works with Base Object Swapper, so it's lightweight and compatible with other BOS mods.
⚠️ Cons
- Requires Base Object Swapper, so you'll need to grab that dependency first.
- Randomization on save load might feel jarring if you're used to static camps.
- Potential conflicts with other mods that edit the same camp locations.
For Skyrim players who want more immersion and variety in the wilderness without overhauling the whole game. If you're tired of seeing the same static hunter camps, this mod breathes life into them. Skip if you prefer hand-placed, consistent world edits or don't want to add another dependency.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have Base Object Swapper installed and enabled before adding this mod.
- Load order matters: place Diverse Hunter Camps after other mods that edit the same cells.
- If you use a mod manager, let it handle the file placement to avoid overwriting issues.
