[]Simple Wearable Lanterns - Remastered
[]Spell Perk Item Distributor (SPID) (and dependencies)
Simple Wearable Lanterns - Remastered contains four (4) different lanterns (Alchemist, Dwemer, Iron, and Magic). My mod utilizes a small script that runs once (at game initialization) to distribute and equip lanterns to NPCs. You can distribute any lantern to any NPC. I also generated a random syntax to distribute a random iron, alchemy, dwemer or magic lantern to NPCs.
Mod is currently configured to distribute one (1) random lantern to each and every NPC in the game. Please see the numerous Articles on many of my other SPID mods to find the distribution that fits your game.
-
[]Highly compatible with most setups, and with most other mods. SPID does not edit levelled lists, and does not modify or generate new records
[]Body slots, however, are not compatible. Choose wisely, or edit the body slot. I will not alter body slots
[]Clipping will likely occur depending on setup. I will not resolve clipping issues
Use the mod manager of your choice to install. Or manually. To uninstall, remove with mod manager. My understanding is that SPID will not impact save games in any way. Safe to uninstall at anytime.
This mod uses Spell Perk Item Distributor (SPID) to equip lanterns from Simple Wearable Lanterns - Remastered to every NPC in Skyrim. It distributes one random lantern (Alchemist, Dwemer, Iron, or Magic) per NPC via a one-time script at game initialization. It's ESL-flagged, edits no records, and doesn't affect the player character.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community-approved with 130 endorsements and nearly 8,000 downloads.
- Adds immersive visual variety to all NPCs without touching leveled lists or records.
- Works with the popular Simple Wearable Lanterns - Remastered mod, so you get functional lanterns, not just visuals.
⚠️ Cons
- Body slot 49 conflicts with other mods using that slot; you'll need to edit it yourself if you have conflicts.
- Clipping is likely depending on your body and armor mods; the author won't fix it.
- Only distributes one lantern type per NPC randomly; you can't customize which NPC gets which lantern without editing the script.
For Skyrim players who want every NPC to carry a lantern for atmosphere or roleplay, especially if you already use Simple Wearable Lanterns - Remastered. Skip if you hate clipping or don't want to fiddle with body slot conflicts.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have SPID and its dependencies installed first, or the mod won't work.
- If you see missing lanterns on NPCs, check that Simple Wearable Lanterns - Remastered is loaded before this mod in your load order.
- To change which lanterns NPCs get, you'll need to edit the script or use SPID's configuration files—check the mod's articles for guidance.
