📋 About This Mod
This mod adds Dawnguard patrols to various locations in Skyrim. Each patrol has a 40% chance of being ambushed by vampires at a specific location every night, between 21:00 and 05:00, but an ambush can happen at most once per night per location. During the daytime, vampires will disappear. These encounters take place on the road south of Fort Sungard, near Shriekwind Bastion, by the bridge close to Fort Snowhawk, near Forsaken Cave, close to Angarvunde, and east of Fort Greenwall (see the Map picture).
Vampires and Dawnguard patrols scale with the player from level 7 to 81. I created high-poly presets for every race and used them to design randomized patrol members. Their faces are standalone, but they will use your installed skin and body textures, so their appearance may vary from the screenshots. Some races have different combat styles—Wood Elves prefer crossbows, while High Elves and Dark Elves can use spells. Each patrol member also has a 33% chance to carry a torch and a 50% chance to wield a crossbow.
Patrol Routes:
Patrol 1: Broken Tower Redoubt → Karthwasten → Markarth Stables → Rorikstead
Patrol 2: Whiterun Stables → Riverwood → Falkreath
Patrol 3: Dawnstar → Dragon Bridge
Patrol 4: Winterhold → Whiterun Stables
Patrol 5: Ivarstead → Riften South Gate
Patrol 6: Road east of Fort Greenwall → Shor's Stone → Hollyfrost Farm

There are no requirements :)
This mod should be compatible with everything. It does not modify any level lists, cells, or base game assets. It simply adds actors, XMarkers, and Trigger Boxes to the world. The patrol members use a custom level list, ensuring that existing Dawnguard members remain untouched.
Adds Dawnguard patrols to various Skyrim locations, with nightly ambush encounters by vampires. A lightweight immersion mod with 254 endorsements and 23,920 downloads, last updated in April 2025.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solid community backing with 254 endorsements and nearly 24k downloads.
- Adds dynamic nightly encounters that make the world feel alive.
- Lightweight immersion addition—no heavy scripts or overhauls.
⚠️ Cons
- Patrols are random, so you might not see them often if you're unlucky.
- Potential conflicts with mods that alter spawns or patrol routes.
- No compatibility patches mentioned—you'll need to test with your load order.
For Skyrim players who want more faction activity in the world, especially Dawnguard vs. vampire encounters. If you're tired of static patrols and want random ambushes, this is for you. Skip if you're not interested in immersion tweaks or if you're on a strict load order.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's ESP-FE, it won't count toward your mod limit—safe to add.
- If you use a mod manager, let it sort your load order to avoid conflicts.
- Check if you have other mods that edit Dawnguard or vampire spawns to prevent overlap.
