📋 About This Mod
This mod uses the Great Cities series' Eastmarch Town/Village house architecture to overhaul the single house in Darkwater Crossing, effectively finalising coverage of non-farm houses in the hold.
This settlement mod is completely standalone, however, it is intended to be used alongside the following:
-
[]The Great Village of Mixwater Mill
[
]The Great Village of KynesgroveCompatibility
This mod will likely conflict with mods that edit Darkwater Crossing and/or the interior of the house.
I currently offer this mod as is and will not be providing any patches for other mods, although people are free to make and upload any patches they like.
Credits

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Massive community trust – 1.4 million downloads and 1,614 endorsements show this mod is widely used and appreciated.
- Keeps Eastmarch settlements visually cohesive, so Darkwater Crossing won't stick out like a sore thumb next to Kynesgrove and Mixwater Mill.
- Lightweight and focused – it only touches one house, so it's a low-risk addition to your load order.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2022 – might have compatibility issues with the latest Skyrim patches or other mods that alter Darkwater Crossing.
- Only changes one building – if you're expecting a full town overhaul, this won't deliver.
- Requires the other Great Town/Village mods to match the architecture, so you'll need to grab those too for the full effect.
For Skyrim players who love the Great Towns and Villages series and want every settlement in Eastmarch to share a consistent architectural style. Also great for modders who want a simple, compatible house replacer. Skip if you're looking for major gameplay changes or a complete overhaul of Darkwater Crossing.
💡 Beginner Tips
- If you're using a mod manager like Vortex or MO2, just download and install – it's a simple file drop, no extra setup needed.
- Make sure you have the other Great Town/Village mods (Kynesgrove, Mixwater Mill) installed first to see the full architectural consistency.
- Check your load order – place this mod after any mods that also edit Darkwater Crossing to avoid conflicts.
