📋 About This Mod
Adds the option to turn Thalmor Robes and Hooded Thalmor Robes into unenchanted versions at a tanning rack.
Craftable Unenchanted Thalmor Robes
This is a simple mod that does two things:
1.) It adds unenchanted versions of the vanilla Thalmor Robes and Hooded Thalmor Robes to the game. These are identical in every aspect to normal Thalmor Robes and Hooded Thalmor Robes, respectively, except for the fact that they lack any enchantment (and the corresponding shader effect for the inventory item model) and can be enchanted by the player.
2.) The new robes cannot be found or bought, but only crafted. The mod adds the option to approach any tanning rack with a set of vanilla enchanted Thalmor Robes or Hooded Thalmor Robes in your inventory and create the new unenchanted version of the respective robes, consuming the original enchanted item in the process. This option will be displayed in the "Misc" section, and only if you have any eligible robes in your inventory.
Installation instructions:
Copy the mod into your data folder, put it wherever you want in your load order, activate it, play. To uninstall, make sure your character is not wearing unenchanted or player-enchanted Thalmor Robes, then save your game and deactivate or delete the mod. You will get a warning if you load the savegame, but that doesn't matter.
Note that any unenchanted and player-enchanted Thalmor Robes will not be converted back into regular robes when you uninstall the mod. They will simply vanish.
Compatibility et cetera:
This mod does not change vanilla Thalmor Robes in any way. It simply adds two new unenchanted items and corresponding crafting recipes. The unenchanted robes use the same meshes, textures, keywords and armature records as the vanilla robes as contained in the current Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch (if you're not using that, the only difference you will notice is that the modded Hooded Thalmor Robes will work properly with Khajiit characters whereas the vanilla ones won't, since that is the thing that USSEP changes about the robes). This way, the mod should be compatible with nearly any other mod, even mods that overwrite the vanilla robes in some way. Mods that alter the appearance of the enchanted vanilla robes by replacing mesh and/or texture files without changing armour records should also change the appearance of the unenchanted robes added by this mod in the same way.
Data changes made and/or scripts directly attached to vanilla Thalmor Robes by any mod will not carry over to the unenchanted version, and neither will the unenchanted robes count as Thalmor Robes for any scripts or conditions that count the number of Thalmor Robes in your inventory or equipment, but I am not aware of any mods that do either of these things, so I guess most players should be fine.
There is another mod on the Nexus that adds unenchanted Thalmor
