📋 About This Mod

This mod will change the model of the quivers from Skyrim Arrow Overhaul to one that matches the armor the character/NPC is currently equipping, by using Immersive Equipment Displays.

Skyrim Arrow Overhaul is a mod that overhauls the way archery works in Skyrim. It brings, along many other things, a new mechanic to separate quivers from arrows/bolts. You can equip certain quivers to match the outfit that you're currently using.

Using Immersive Equipment Displays, this mod will automatically swap the quiver's model based on the armors equipped.

Requirements

- Immersive Equipment Displays (IED) - Version 1. 7. 3 or higher.

- Skyrim Arrow Overhaul (SAO) - Version 1. 25 or higher.

How to get started

After you load the game, you'll notice the quivers being invisible. Don't worry, that's because the .esp removes the quiver models, so you can manage them via IED.

Open up IED's UI and navigate to "View>Variables", select the available from the dropdown menu and click on merge:

This preset checks for the equipped armors.

Then navigate to "View>Display manager>View>Custom items", choose where you want to apply the preset (I recommend using the Global tab to affect everyone), select the preset available from the dropdown menu and click on merge:

Now the quivers will be swapped according to the armors equipped.

How does it work?
The custom display will not verify if a quiver is actually equipped. It will show the model as long as an arrow/bolt is equipped or displayed.

The variable display will check the keywords of the equipped armors to swap the quivers. The keywords are associated with the material the armor is made from.

ArmorMaterialHide will use the Leather Quiver;

ArmorMaterialSteel will use the Steel Quiver;

ArmorMaterialGlass will use the Glass Quiver;

and so on...

It should work with all the armors from the game, vanilla or modded, as long as they have the correct keywords assigned. You can use mods such as Weapons Armor Clothing and Clutter Fixes and USSEP to add/fix the correct keywords.

If a match isn't found, then the quiver will be swapped according to the material of the arrow/bolt equipped instead.

You can also change the model of the quiver to the currently equipped one by pressing a hotkey.

Navigate to "View>Key bindings", select the preset available from the dropdown menu and click on merge:

Change the hotkey if you wish to.

The display can be normally managed with IED via the "Quiver" node. Use "Gear nodes" to customize it.

And that's it, you can now equip armors and the displays will automatically switch the quivers:
