A Recast replacer for Gregor, the housecarl of the Pale.

The Tale of Jondralyn

The Jarl of the Pale stepped out of his longhouse to a crowd of locals gathered around the entrance. The snow came down at a steady pace as his people looked up at him expectantly, waiting for him to speak.

"The rumors are true. Our beloved Gregor was indeed killed by a dragon. When I first learned of it over a week ago, I consulted my advisors on what we would do next. I know many of you fear for the safety of our home, but let me assure you, it is handled. For one, a hero the people are calling the Dragonborn arrived and slew the beast."

Cheers rose from the crowd, and he lifted his arms for quiet. "We have rewarded this hero. Normally we would offer the service of Gregor, should the hero prove a boon to the Pale. Sadly, we cannot." The people bowed their heads in sorrow. "We will honor Gregor's sacrifice, you have my word. But we must name a successor." Several locals stepped forward, grim and determined, to volunteer.

"I thank those of you who would serve, but the choice is made. Jondralyn, step forward." The crowd parted, and every head turned as a Breton woman walked through their ranks. She moved like a prowling sabre cat, with the grace and power of a born warrior.

"She isn't even from our lands. How can you name her?" one townsperson shouted, and murmurs of agreement followed. The Breton stepped up beside the Jarl and turned to stare into the face of the man who had questioned her. He gulped at the steel in her eyes, and took a step back. The Jarl smiled.

"Good. We have our new housecarl," he said, and turned back into his longhouse, his retinue trailing after, as Jondralyn took her post outside the door with her arms crossed.

Overview

A Pantheon replacer that recasts the housecarl Gregor as Jondralyn, a Breton warrior.

Jondralyn replaces the male housecarl Gregor, so once you become Thane of the Pale, she takes up the post instead. Because she uses Recast, the swap is hassle-free and compatible with just about everything.
