📋 About This Mod

Breakdown:

The mod uses several aspects to eliminate friendly fire (for all actors) but also ensures that you (the player) can't exploit the system against Neutral NPCs. Non-invasive implementation as it is handled entirely on the SKSE. The esl-fied esp only overrides the CurrentFollowerFaction record to note the new relations with new factions in this mod.

- Player Allies Unity

Often, non-vanilla companions don't use the vanilla follower faction (e.g., Inigo). Even current companions don't recognize each other as allies in combat. Finally, the player's summons, and companion summons, are basically "Frenemies". A slight sneeze in their direction and an unwanted battle commences. Worse, because actor base records for NPCs like Dremora tend to "help no one", when summoned they only care about their summoner, and won't help the entire team.

This mod remedies all these problems: Current followers recognize each other as allies; those not in the vanilla follower faction are placed in the "CFRs_PlayerAlliesFaction" which is allied to the player and the player's current followers. They will now also help each other in combat (the reference actor's assistance level, not actor base, is set to 2 if it's not).

- Reasonable Neutrals Identification

Reasonable definition = An actor that only attacks enemies or only attacks when provoked (aka Aggression level <= 1).

If a neutral actor is about to be hit by another (and they aren't hostile to each other), if the aggressor is the player (or the player's teammate), and friendly fire is off, and the victim NPC is "Reasonable", they are placed in the "CFRs_PlayerFriendsFaction" and no damage is dealt to them. if vice-versa, they are removed from the faction, and damage is dealt as normal.

If the aggressor is another neutral NPC, they are placed in the CFRs Neutrals' faction and will act as friends temporarily. Since this is 99% likely to be a combat situation, they are removed from it some moments after combat ends to ensure stray hits don't cause aggro.

- Dynamic Friendly Fire Toggle

If the player goes into sneak mode outside combat, friendly fire is switched on (CFRs_FriendlyFire_Off = 0; this is a global value). This allows you to damage non-hostiles on purpose and begin combat against them. In combat, the plugin switches off friendly fire (against non-hostile actors). The SKSE INI file allows you to switch off this dynamic system. In which case, you'd have to manually toggle the global value (e.g., console command - CFRs_FriendlyFire_Off set to 1). A new update now allows you to toggle the dynamic s
