📋 About This Mod

I love Northbourne NPCs, however I felt that the Gray-Manes should all have grey hair like they do in vanilla, and as is implied by their name. And so I decided to make this mod, which was also my first mod of many.

After that, I made some other tweaks to Northbourne as well, each one is detailed below.

All files requires Northbourne NPCs Resources, and each file includes an ESP plugin flagged as ESL.

Keep in mind that all files must override and be loaded after any Northbourne NPC mods in order to see the changes, and to avoid the black face issue.

Grey Haired Gray Manes

Changes to grey the hair, beard, and brow colour of Olfina Gray-Mane, Avulstein Gray-Mane, and Thorald Gray-Mane. Their appearance is otherwise the same as in Northbourne NPCs of Whiterun Hold 3. 9. 2.

Black Haired Lynly Star-Sung

In the quest involving Lynly, she's said to have black hair, however in vanilla she's blonde. In Northbourne NPCs of the Rift she's also blonde. This file gives Lynly her Northbourne appearance, but with black hair and brows.

Northbourne Whiterun Reverts

Changes the appearance of Alvor, Athis, Camilla Valerius, and Embry to how they looked in Northbourne NPCs of Whiterun Hold 2. 2, and changes Delphine to how she looks in Northbourne NPCs of Riverwood 1. 3.

If you only want some of these NPCs reverted and not others, I recommend using the tool EasyNPC.

Recommendations

I highly recommend that you to check out Northbourne NPCs of Whiterun Hold and Northbourne NPCs of the Rift, as well as endorsing those mods! The faces from this mod will look out of place without all the other NPCs being changed.

The screenshots use the following mods to enhance NPC appearance:

Reverie Skin for female skin textures.

The New Gentleman for male skin textures.

Tegoth's Realistic Skin Overhaul version 4 for skin speculars.

Community Shaders Subsurface Scattering for subsurface scattering.

SC KS Hairdos Retextured for hair textures.

Cloud's Northbourne Tweaks is a small cosmetic mod that adjusts select NPCs from Southpawe's Northbourne NPCs series. With 82 endorsements and over 16,000 downloads, it's a niche but popular tweak for players who want a slightly different look for certain characters. Last updated in April 2024.

✨ Key Features

Modifies a few NPCs from Southpawe's Northbourne NPCs series
Provides tweaked appearances for select characters
Requires the original Northbourne NPCs mod as a base

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Decent community traction for a tweak mod (82 endorsements, 16k downloads)
  • Builds on the well-regarded Northbourne NPCs series, so you know the base quality is solid
  • Lightweight and focused—just tweaks a few NPCs without overhauling everything

⚠️ Cons

  • Only covers a few NPCs, so if you were hoping for a broader overhaul, this isn't it
  • Requires the original Northbourne NPCs mod, so it's an extra dependency on top of that
  • Last updated in April 2024, so it might not be compatible with the latest game patches or other mods
🎯 Is This For You?
For Skyrim players who already use Northbourne NPCs and want a slightly different look for a handful of characters. If you're not using Northbourne, this mod is pointless. Skip if you want a full NPC overhaul—this is just a small tweak.

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Make sure you have the original Northbourne NPCs mod installed first, or this tweak won't work.
  • Load this mod after Northbourne NPCs in your load order so the tweaks override the originals.
  • If you use a mod manager, you can easily toggle this mod on/off to compare the tweaked NPCs with the originals.
