📋 About This Mod
This page contains some of my own modifications to ClefJ's Morthal SE. These are all separate ESLs, so you can pick and choose what you'd like.
Here is an overview of the ESLs:
- The Great Cities - Minor cities & towns patch: self-explanatory. A lux orbis patch is provided. NOTE: This patch disables TGC's Erika NPC (the woman market stall vendor)
- Snowy patch: this makes it so the roofs and walkways are snowy again, to avoid discrepancies between other mod-added content to Morthal
- Spaghetti's AIO Patch - Just makes Spaghetti's AIO play nice with ClefJ's Morthal.
- Skyrim not Morrowind Tweak: replaces most dunmer lanterns, furniture and doors with Vanilla Skyrim counterparts. Also removes the green mushrooms. Lux Orbis patch is provided.
- Vanilla Textures/Meshes Patch: Reverts the farmhouses back to their vanilla meshes, so one can use for example Northern Vanilla Farmhouses and texture replacements. This also replaces the Medieval shields in Highmoon Hall with Steel, Nordic battleaxes with Steel battleaxes, and removes the Witcher murals. Comes in Both Snowy and non-Snowy versions.
Do let me know if you encounter any problems with these patches, but make sure its a conflict with the patch and its dependencies, not some third-party mod you're using as well.
ClefJ and Ra2Phoenix for the making of and maintaining respectively of ClefJ's Morthal SE.
This mod offers a collection of optional ESL patches for ClefJ's Morthal SE, letting you customize the city to your liking. It includes patches for The Great Cities, snowy roofs, Spaghetti's AIO, a Skyrim-not-Morrowind tweak, and vanilla textures/meshes. With 65 endorsements and recent updates, it's a niche utility for players who want to fine-tune their Morthal experience.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Modular design means you only install what you need, keeping your load order clean.
- Active maintenance (last updated Nov 2024) and a solid download count (7,746) show it's being used.
- Compatibility patches for popular mods like The Great Cities and Spaghetti's AIO save you the headache of conflicts.
⚠️ Cons
- The TGC patch disables Erika NPC, which might break quests or immersion if you're used to her.
- The Skyrim not Morrowind Tweak is a big change—if you like the Dunmer aesthetic, this will strip it out.
- Since these are patches, they require the base mods (ClefJ's Morthal, etc.) to work, so you need to install multiple dependencies.
For Skyrim modders who use ClefJ's Morthal and want to tailor it to their load order—whether that's making it snowy, vanilla-styled, or compatible with other overhauls. If you're a purist who wants to keep the original Dunmer vibe, skip the Skyrim not Morrowind tweak. This is a utility pack, not a content addon.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Use a mod manager like MO2 or Vortex to install the ESLs—it'll handle load order and conflicts automatically.
- If you're using The Great Cities patch, be aware it disables Erika NPC; plan your quests accordingly.
- For the Vanilla Textures/Meshes Patch, make sure you have a compatible texture mod like Northern Vanilla Farmhouses installed, or you'll just get vanilla textures.
