📋 About This Mod
Simple lightweight mod that greatly increases the difficulty of lockpicking by kicking the player out of the lockpicking menu when a pick breaks. This resets the opening position of the lock, making it very hard to pick locks that are
Unlike other mods that either make the lockpicking minigame harder across the board or prevent the player from picking higher-leveled locks outright, this mod provides an engaging risk/reward mechanic. Are you going to take your chances and try to spend your last 5 lockpicks trying to open that master chest, or are you going to cut your losses and come back later?
Note that in my experience this makes the lockpicking significantly harder if you don't invest in lockpicking perks or get good enchanted lockpicking armor or lockpicking potions. Expert and master leveled locks will break your pick way before you're able to even get a general idea of where the opening position is, unless you get lucky.
